PPEL 310 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Loved the subject, hated his teaching. He made the class difficult & confusing. Most of what he taught in class had nothing to do with what we were tested on or the readings he assigned. The readings were extremely difficult to understand and when we asked questions about them, he was demeaning and made anyone who asked a question feel stupid.

PHIL250 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

The readings can be difficult, but he clarifies everything in his lectures and provides descriptive notes that cover everything you need to know. Go to class and take notes, or else you may struggle to understand what exactly is going on. He is a wonderful lecturer and you'll learn a lot if you put in a little effort.

PHIL250 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

The greatest teacher I have ever had. He is the reason why our political philosophy department is no. 1--you HAVE to take a class with him. He is hilarious and so good at explaining really difficult concepts. He takes philosophy and makes it totally doable and fun

Phil205 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Easy class. Print out the lecture material and go to discussions because that is where you will learn a majority of everything. He gives you 3 essay questions to study for the test and he will ask 1. So it's easy to study for & you can ask your TA and Prof. Gaus questions for clarification. Study for the tests you should easily get an A or B.

It's really an easy class. Some people complained about the TA's grading, but they did not have even the faintest idea about how hard the professor's grading was. So, if you do your work, and your instructor in the discussion section is a TA, it will be a very very easy A. Book? No need

Really an amazing teacher. Has good examples so you can understand better and he really knows his stuff. I loved this class. Really really have to work for a good grade tho. If you attend lectures and sections you do not need to buy the book. I didn't and I got an A. But be prepared to work on the tests... they pick your brain.

PHIL204 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Gaus is an awesome guy, really seems to know his stuff. The regular exams aren't too hard, but the final got me a B in the class. Just make sure you can explain all the logic behind the people's ideas. It's a good idea to read the book and go to lectures.

PHIL205 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

Okay, I'm not a business major or a philosophy major, so I had no interest in the class content. Gaus does seem like an okay professor but if you aren't interested in the subject you are going to be bored as hell. Pretty easy class, but you'll get a B if you don't do any of the reading until the day before the test :)

Lectures ar SO BORING. T.A.s are very picky on how they grade. You have to get every little detail right. readings are SO BORING. He sucks at making sense of things and so do the T.A.s. If you want an A you have to work for it.

Good class. It does require a lot of work. One easy presentation, two essay tests, and a final essay test. He gives you a list of questions ahead of time and you basically write and memorize essays for all the questions and then he will surprise you with one question on the test. I barely made an A but this class was worth it.

The class material was complicated and confusing much of the time and Gaus made it understandable. Discussion sections were very beneficial, and if you had good attendance and participation at the sections you can get up to 10% extra credit on your class grade

Not a great class. Interesting topics and philosophers, but there isn't much continuity.

This class is pretty good. Not the best, but def possible to get an A in. I recommend going to all the lectures because he summerizes the readings, which are difficult. It's a fairly interesting class, but it can get a little old. I really have nothing bad to say about this class, but it wasn't my favorite. If you put in adequat work you can get A

Gaus is an amazing teacher. His lectures were very interesting and he always added humor into them. Everything was online, which was helpful if I missed class. I definitely recommend him!
