I thought it was a generally easy class. He can seem condescending at times, but he just has a dry sense of humor and does not mean it personally. He was helpful with how I could improve and how I was doing. And generally thought he was a fair grader. He likes pictures with meaning, so just come up with some BS and you will be good.

Was funny and really helpful to everyone in my class. one of the better teachers ive had in the art department. he is also a painter, and has a good understanding of what art is.

I really enjoy having Professor Henkel as my instructor. He knows what he's talking about and is more than willing to give feedback. The class critiques are helpful, and from what I've experienced so far, he's a fair grader.

learned WAY more from TA about printing photos and received more feedback on quality of subject matter- learned little to nothing from him. expect to pick the TA's brain if you have one, hopefully.

Came from winning multiple photography awards in my high school, to almost failing his "intro to photo" class. Grading is simply based on how much professor likes the pictures/ students. Pictures that are well printed, or have a deeper meaning to you as an artist can still recieve a D-. Was constantly given NO clear advice on how to improve.

He makes me sick. I like how he did critiques but he fails to comment. I disliked him as a teacher and avoid any class that he's teaching. He's weird im sure he knows about photography but he was a pathetic teacher. Take Jeff Milikans classes. or anyone else.
