"Get ready to read" "Lectures are long" "Skip class? You won't pass."

Dr. Mae is one of my favorite psych professors. This was the second course I took with her, and I still really like her. Her tests are based mostly off the book and notes and she gives you a study guide so you know what to look for. Though attendance is not checked, it is impossible to pass the class without going to pretty much every lecture.

"Tests are tough" "Skip class? You won't pass." "Get ready to read"

This should be an easy class, but she makes it way harder than it should be by refusing to put her lecture slides online. So if you miss a day for any reason, your midterm grade's probably shot. If you do show up, you have to scramble to take notes all class which divides your attention. All you get is a (worthless) study guide. Just don't take it.

There are 4 exams (50 points each), and 1 project (10 points). You get a study guide for the exams, but about 10 questions on the test are from the book. Multiple choice. Attendance is only required on the first day, however I would absolutely recommend attending every class. Just pull up the study guide in class and take notes directly from that.

Rarely attended class. Just do the research credits and the super easy labs. I got two D's on the exams and still ended with C without knowing a lot of information. B is not hard at all and an A is possible.

The exams are online but are very difficult because it is based on menial facts about authors rather than concepts. Dr. Mae is nice and with a little prompting she is helpful but there is no opportunity to discuss things in class because she only makes time for her own lecture content. There are better psych electives available, take those.

Rarely went to class and squeaked by with a B (she only gives whole letter grades). If you take good notes, and make flash cards you'll do just fine. Go to class and pay attention and its an easy A.

Absolutely loved this class, found it to be very interesting. Dr. Mae made this class very easy to understand. Her tests are strictly from the study guide, so make sure you take great notes and complete the study guide. This class is a easy A, as long as you apply yourself.

LOVED THIS CLASS! It was so interesting! If you study the way she suggests, you'll get an A. The exams were multiple choice.

Mae REALLY loves Psychology, as you can tell through her lectures. As long as you show up to class, take notes on the slides, and study them, you can easily get an A in the class.

take her class. its annoying but easy. you need 6 research credits so that gets in the way of studying for other classes but once you do it the class is simple. she says to read book but as long as you show up to class and copy down the slides you don't need to. the exams are easy four 50 question multiple choice. as long as you study youll pass

Overall good teacher. She kinda treats you like a 7 year old but she's honestly really nice & helpful. Her tests are super straightforward so if you do the study guides and go to class you'll be fine! At first the course is boring but it gets interesting after the first couple of chapters. Easy A if you do the work required.

Good info, interesting! Teacher was a little slow on delivery of information, class seemed longer than actually was. Class was not too difficult, and enjoyable. 1 assignment, 4 tests. Dr. Mae was nice 1-on-1 but made womanly-"assertive" comments in class. Offensive. Tests were easy if completed study guide, & study! Would take her class again tho

She absolutely loves psychology and it's easy to tell. However, the class does get a little tough at times. But if you attend lectures and study the notes that she gives you, you should be just fine.

DO NOT BUY THE BOOK.(she's the author) she will tell you it's mandatory with a price of $80, whereas you can just use someone else's. But in my case, i didn't use the book AT ALL. I went to less than 2 lectures besides those tests, still got an A. there's notes online so you don't need to waste 3 hours in lecture every week. DO the extra credits.

I had Prof. Mae for Psy101. She is probably the best professor I've had. She is very passionate about the subject which makes it more interesting for us. The tests are short, easy, and follow Mae's provided study guides. You do NOT need to get the textbook if you plan on attending class, I didn't even open mine.

Dr. Mae is a great professor who is clearly passionate about what she is teaching. Lots of memorization for Media Madness (authors, etc.) but it was an engaging elective so I'd definitely recommend it!

This lady is a little silly but honestly this class was a piece of cake. If you need psych as a pre-req take it from her for sure. Go to class every day, write down the definitions to all the terms she wants you to know, read them over a couple of times before the test, and bam you've got an A in the bag.

Dr. Mae is one of the worst professors at ASU. She lectures the class as if they're still in elementary school. While it's not a difficult class, you have to attend and listen to get some questions on the tests but it's almost unbearable to hear her speak for an hour and a half. You literally learn nothing. Take any other professor.

Heard great things about Dr. Mae so decided to take her class and I have to say I'm underwhelmed. She's kinda neurotic, her study guides aren't very helpful, and what should be an interesting class is just... not. She uses her own version of the textbook so you can't find it used or an older edition.
