One of the worst teachers I have ever had. She spends all class pretending it's her standup special on Comedy Central, which makes her lectures confusing and awkward. Don't even try to get outside help from her, you'll just be wasting your time. Overall, her class is a train wreck. Wish I had never taken it.

Best prof I've had so far. Such a nice lady, amazing speaker, and definitely knows her stuff. Barely any homework. Research credits are mandatory and EC is given if finished early (they are easy). Use online flashcards already made for the 4 tests-easy if and only if you study for them. No cumulative final. Emailed me personally for getting an A+.

"Tests are tough"

I would not recommend this class for anyone looking to really learn interesting material, deep understanding, or critical thinking. Professor Mae just gets up in front of the class and lectures. She's not entirely boring, but essentially it is just a "memorize the trivia for the test and get an easy A" class.

I am not a psych major & have never taken a psych class, but LOVED this one. Prof Mae clearly knows EXACTLY what she is talking about & has years of experience in the field. Being in class isn't mandatory as long as you get the notes from someone. Everything on the test is on the study guide. Her lectures are sensitive, intersting & crystal clear.

"Lectures are long" "Participation matters" "Skip class? You won't pass."

No attendance taken, but showing up is the best way to learn. She provides note *outlines* to fill in during lectures, which are helpful if you actually go to class. Exams are mostly multiple choice and mostly just definitions. I personally didn't enjoy the material, but the class itself is structured well. Textbook is expensive and hardly used.

Boring!! Her voice is boring and most of the content is boring. She can't figure out how to wear the microphone without her hair covering it up for the life of her. It is very annoying. Tests are okay but you need to do the study guide. Labs and Extra credit are the easiest thing in the world. Take it for an easy A but don't expect to learn much.

She teaches at an agonizingly slow pace. Other than that, the class is an easy A. She also assigns a fun project due near the end of the semester, which I enjoyed.

Taking her for Intro to Psych will put you to sleep. She spends 40 minutes on one slide and does not give good notes at all. The book is necessary because she makes you do online labs. She drags out her lectures as long as possible which is irritating. For those of you who want to get in, get your work done, and get out, this class is not for you.

Don't understand how anyone could rate her poorly. The class is ridiculously easy if you out in just a little bit. You MUST go to lectures and fill in the lecture guide. Make flashcards from the review sheet using the study guide, and that's all you have to do for the test. There are no surprises. Do all extra credits, and complete research credits

She nice and sweet. However, she's a terribly lecturer. Her power point slides aren't clearly labelled and she often comes up with her own headers that really only make sense to her. She often rambles aimlessly about one topic, and then barely covers the next. She gets distracted and off topic easily. Short answer: go to her TA's office hours.

In my opinion, Lynda Mae is certainly one of the BEST professors in ASU. Her lectures are fantastic, she lectures with heart and passion. Aims to actually educate her students and supply them with knowledge that they could benefit from. I actually WANTED to go to class. Which isn't the case with many of the other classes I've taken here. A++ Prof.

Stopped going to class halfway through the semester. She just restates everything in the textbook (she helped write it). Does not need to be a 3 hour class. On tests, she does throw in random facts about the theorists and sometimes words questions confusingly.

Dr. Mae is one of my favorite psych professors. This was the second course I took with her, and I still really like her. Her tests are based mostly off the book and notes and she gives you a study guide so you know what to look for. Though attendance is not checked, it is impossible to pass the class without going to pretty much every lecture.

This should be an easy class, but she makes it way harder than it should be by refusing to put her lecture slides online. So if you miss a day for any reason, your midterm grade's probably shot. If you do show up, you have to scramble to take notes all class which divides your attention. All you get is a (worthless) study guide. Just don't take it.

There are 4 exams (50 points each), and 1 project (10 points). You get a study guide for the exams, but about 10 questions on the test are from the book. Multiple choice. Attendance is only required on the first day, however I would absolutely recommend attending every class. Just pull up the study guide in class and take notes directly from that.

Rarely attended class. Just do the research credits and the super easy labs. I got two D's on the exams and still ended with C without knowing a lot of information. B is not hard at all and an A is possible.

The exams are online but are very difficult because it is based on menial facts about authors rather than concepts. Dr. Mae is nice and with a little prompting she is helpful but there is no opportunity to discuss things in class because she only makes time for her own lecture content. There are better psych electives available, take those.

Rarely went to class and squeaked by with a B (she only gives whole letter grades). If you take good notes, and make flash cards you'll do just fine. Go to class and pay attention and its an easy A.

Absolutely loved this class, found it to be very interesting. Dr. Mae made this class very easy to understand. Her tests are strictly from the study guide, so make sure you take great notes and complete the study guide. This class is a easy A, as long as you apply yourself.

LOVED THIS CLASS! It was so interesting! If you study the way she suggests, you'll get an A. The exams were multiple choice.
