He's smart, for sure, but he doesn't really know how to teach. It's clearly been awhile since he was a student. He expects a massive amount of work that doesn't really relate with anything he says. Not that anything he says makes any sense either, he teaches with graphs but nobody knows what they're supposed to be learning.

The class is difficult. There are some issues with the test questions and sometimes you have to pick what he wants even though 2 (or sometimes more) of the answers could technically be correct. Attendance is a must if you want to do well on the exams, but as long as you can think in concepts but study details, you should be fine.

He's really qualified and knows the material really well. As for clarity, it depends on how you listen. As long as you show up to class, are attentive, you will understand. The workload is find as long as you don't wait til the night before. AND stop by office hours. he really does care about his students and will go out of his way to help you.

After 18 years you would think this guy would know how to teach or be a good professor.. Run the other direction!!

Though Prof. Lehoucq is a nice guy he shouldnt be teaching, he does not know how to construct exams or assignments, he clearly knows the material but doesnt know hot to teach it.His exams are hard n has nothing to do with the lectures, Dont take him unless you are into getting bad grades. He sometimes treat students like idiots, dont waste your time

Tests are not well constructed. Diverse assignments which is good. Grading is sketchy. I was dissapointed. One of few professors whom I would not take again, unfortunatly.

Sometimes the subject matter is very boring, but after the first test the class picks up. His tests aren't too hard if you come to class. He lets you make a study guide that you can use on the tests. Overall it's a great class and he's extremely helpful

Don't understand a thing that's going on in his class and he can't explain without using the same wording. Watch out before taking a course of his if you aren't a political science major because he doesn't put prerequisites- assumes everyone can catch up. Nice guy and all, but useless if you don't already know exactly what he's talking about.

Dr. Lehoucq is a very good professor. He does expect quite a bit from the students. His philosophy is "To know if you understand the material, you should be able to explain it to your grandma so she understands it." So memorizing definitions will not do,you need to understand the subject. Just go to class and ask questions if you are confused.
PSC260
Dr. Lehoucq wasn't as hard as everyone makes him out to be, but for a 200 level course he does expect a lot. The tests are about the understanding of the subject and applying it; NOT memorization of the definition of terms, so it'll appear hard. Just be sure to attend all, or almost all, of the classes and go to him for help if needed.

I found myself wondering what in the world was going on. It was like in class your trying to piece the reading with the charts but your not exactly sure what goes with what. You have to do the reading and there's alot. There was 20 people when we started we're going to end with 11. He will help you and he doesn't grade hard. Not my favorite at all!

I agree that this teacher is harder than average, however, the work expected is not beyond that of most students if they apply themselves. Put some thought into your journal and your paper and you will do fine. Don't worry about the tests which are not weighed heavily. I found this teacher to be interesting and genuinely interested in his students

The professor rambles; you'll learn practically nothing. Sad but true. Every day will be a constant struggle, because there seems to be no cohesion to the class. He grades very harshly, but you'll be so lost that you won't know why you got a D or an A. If you have to take 240, take it with anyone else.

He is a random professor.. We just took a midterm and that's the worst midterm I have ever taken. It had nothing to do with what we primarily focused on in class.. I just don't know! Oh and the paper is completely ridiculous and confusing because you are not sure of exactly what he wants

This professor is TERRIBLE! He had lots of pop quizzes that were very hard. He'd give you a difficult question from the text and give you about FIVE minutes to answer it. You'll wonder why you're there; the material in class has nothing to do with journals or the paper which is 70% of your grade!! I would advise you NOT TO TAKE THIS CLASS!!

You will often leave class wondering what you are suppose to be learning. However, once you complete the course somethings start to come together. The paper at the end is NOT easy, so don't plan on starting on it at the last minute. Bottom line- do the readings, come to class and you will learn a lot.
PSC260
Talk about a horrible professor! He's not clear in his teaching and half the class has NO idea what we're supposed to be learning. He has pop quizzes based on the reading almost everyday which in order to get the correct answer, you would've had to written the book. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COST!!!!
