Essays were pretty easy, support whatever it is you are talking about and you'll get at least a B. Print powerpoint slides and notes and you'll do just fine. Extra credit is really easy. Lecture is boring , but nothing is cumulative. And he is very lenient on the the papers, even if you do horrible on the midterm you can still making an "A" or "B".

I took MW online for American Jesus. One of my favorite courses ever. All opinion-based Discussion minus 2 essays and a Journal. Although the time-constraints do make the workload seem harder, MW is extremely helpful in his feedback and will tell you EXACTLY how to fix mistakes for the next Discussion. CHEAP book, great professor. TAKE THIS CLASS.

Dr. Weidler is very intelligent and one of my favorites. While the material is pretty boring, he tries to make it more interesting. While he does take attendance, it is not mandatory. His policy is if you miss more than 4 classes, you just get a zero in participation, which is only 10 points. Oh and there's A LOT of book use. Overall great teacher!

So boring and uninteresting. He's a nice guy, but his class will seriously put you to sleep. You get two essays, two exams, one quiz, and ten points of extra credit. The essays, quiz, and extra credit are super easy, but the exams are ridiculous. Come prepared to read and pay good attention, but if you're a mediocre student, pick someone easier.

I took him for American Jesus. If you are a philosophical thinker, this class is for you. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it. The teacher knows his material, but the content is extremely boring. I can honestly say that I am not able to articulate any of the core concepts of this class.

Dr. Weidler is very well versed and active in his lectures. Always well prepared and encourages participation and asking questions. Stickler for grammar and spelling, though. Read assignments and take good notes for a good grade. Attend, miss four classes and you are dropped.

I took Dr. Vigh-dler for the American Jesus course. He has a tendency to get on tangents and he talks for so long that by the end of the question you can't remember the start. He's a good guy and he's funny and I would take him if I needed a philosophy course. The actual course is good, too. It's not proselytizing but the chapters get long.

Lectures are a bit slow, and you MUST have a dictionary handy because he uses big words. Alot. Also, attendance is mandatory, but he is always willing to help (being an athlete made it hard, but all of the notes are online.) Basically, come to class, stay awake, and study!

Very sweet professor, but his class is beyond boring. doesn't keep your attention. there's a lot of reading!! essays are fairly hard, as well as the readings. if you are heavy into religion, do not take this class. a lot of questioning the belief of God.

This class was super easy. It was boring. The readings were boring. He loves to talk and has passion for the subject but it just didn't keep my interest. He doesn't have a final exam which is always a plus in my book!!. Overall the class was OK

He seems like a nice person and all, but honestly this class is boring. He over complicates the subject matter, rambles, brings convoluted examples into the discussion, and he's just confusing. Our entire class failed one of his tests, he described it as being "impressively bad." In other words, don't take this class!

He obviously loves Philosophy and he really wants his students to succeed. However, the lectures are boring, and he rambles incessantly. However, he is really nice and will help you as much as possible. His tests are fair and he doesn't grade too harshly. I'd recommend him.

This guy was AWESOME! I loved his class! He keeps you interested (most of the time), and when he knows he's going to lose you, he lets you know before he starts speaking. Your enjoyment of his class depends entirely on your classmates and yourself. IF YOU WANT TO DO WELL IN THIS CLASS: read all of his assignments BEFORE class, and PARTICIPATE! (:

Weidler is a really good teacher, his lectures are kind of boring but he really tries to help out. He doesnt grade harshly at all. I wrote a bunch of crap on one of his essay assignments and got an A. His powerpoints arent a good study tool if you dont take notes because it consists of a bunch of questions so reading before class helps.

Very relaxed professor and extremely friendly. He teaches well and is always willing to help and answer questions. He doesn't spoon feed you with explanations though. Taking notes and paying attention to lectures are essential. Do this and I guarantee you an A.
