This was a HARD class, but his lectures were interesting. He is very approachable. The readings were boring, and you can't skim them, because they are used for the tests. 2 essay tests and a term paper.

Great class great professor! He gives you essay topic for exams before the midterm. The text book is a little bit hard to understand but if you go the class, he will explain all the theories in detail. He's a nice guy and he hopes everyone gets full points in his class. The grade is not curved, so if you work hard, you should be fine:)

I enjoyed this class! I had never taken a sociology class before, so had no idea what to expect. I found some of the readings a little difficult, but everything is explained in class. You get the essay topics in advance for tests. I would recommend this class. I wouldn't call this class easy, but I wouldn't call it super difficult either.

This class was easy, but Wender made things very complicated with his unclear directions. Our TA Julie saved the day and really consolidated his lectures to make them more understandable. Pretty sure I will nearly 4.0 this class, it's easy... but not the most exciting class.

Wender is my favorite professor so far at UW. His lectures were both engaging and informative, and he works so hard to make sure everyone is on the same page and prepared for his exams. He makes the class as interactive as a lecture can be, and is extremely passionate about his student's success.

This man is one of the most inspirational people I've ever met, and one of the most intelligent. He is a former cop, very personable, and funny. His lectures are engaging, emotionally moving, and sometimes hilarious. He wants you to learn, and wants to change things in society. he isn't an 'easy' grader, but he is very very fair. Take his class.

Go to his lectures, he explains what he wanted you to get from the readings. And don't miss sections, that is where you get all participation. Very engaging. Used to be a cop so he knows the criminal justice system better than most.
