Nice professor in general. Tests tend to be tricky as materials from extra credit assignment have been involved. Recommended for students with perfect attendance.

This guy is a legend. He really loves his powerpoints, for good reason, they're incredible. He's really good though, but you have to go to class and actually study for the test

Fantastic professor. Engaging lectures. Had no interest in geology before taking this course, but looked forward to it every week. Highly recommend it, and not terribly hard. But study!!! I bombed the first midterm because I didn't think studying was necessary and then had to absolutely pull it out at the end.

Great professor! Course material itself could be extremely complicated but Professor Glass manages to explain it in interesting and understandable ways. Lectures are always interesting and keep my attention. One of the best class I have taken!

Professor Glass is an awesome lecturer, but he's also interesting outside of the class. While I have to say he sometimes doesn't have his stuff together, he does a great job regardless. Definitely make use of regrades, because his TA's tend to not speak the best English, but he's great about giving points back. Take his class.

Prof Glass is a boss, enough said! It was fun digressing during class and talking about sci-fi and philosophy and other random stuff, though he made the class content pretty interesting as well. I'd definitely take another class with him!

Professor Glass was great. While some of his test questions were quite difficult, he is an excellent lecturer and his power point presentations are out of this world! I would highly recommend him as a professor.

Grade is based on tests which are drawn solely from the lecture. Show up to class and pay attention, and you'll get a good grade. Glass is a great professor for non majors because he brings out a childlike wonder about the earth and universe which makes the dry scientific material more engaging. Trees friendly (rocks for jocks, get stoned)

Chill bro. Very interesting lecturer. Makes something that could be impossibly boring interesting. Catch is that tests can be pretty hard in that you really have to know everything he talked about in lecture to do well.

Don't expect an easy A. Tests are very detail oriented & require studying. If you study the lecture slides, though, you will do well.

Must go to class if you want a good grade since a lot of the exam material is based on what he says in lecture. Exams are not comprehensive but are more like trivia. Also beware of study sessions since he tends to mislead you and ends up covering different material on the exam. The trip to the marine lab is a total flop and not worth the time.

This class is super easy. Exams are almost entirely based on the slides with a few questions based on his lecture. Although the lecture can be skipped, if you attend most of the classes and cram the slides, you are ensured a great grade.

I enjoyed the content of this class, especially the third section which focused on life in the ocean. There is little work to be done for the class but the tests are very hard. Also, there is a mandatory field trip to the Marine Lab for the weekend, which I was not aware of before enrolling, but it was fun. Don't expect an easy A.

He is a interesting professor and always makes the class laugh. But his lecture is pretty unorganized. i feel like he just writes down some random facts that in his mind.(especially the part about marine animals!) the tests aren't that hard but he puts so many details and random facts in them

One of the best lecturers I've ever had. The class isn't easy per se but everything you need to know is in the lectures so the textbook is basically useless. His tests are very detail-oriented but if you study in advance they're fine. I have no interest in the subject whatsoever but his classes are still very engaging

Prof Glass is enthusiastic, loved his animations and appreciated the analysis of Japan earthquake. Very friendly and helpful, organized fantastic trip to marine lab. Tests are very detailed oriented and have to be memorized to score well

Alex is a fantastic professor and very entertaining. Even if you're not super interested in the subject, he makes class engaging. However, his tests are VERY detail-oriented, which makes them really hard to prepare for.

Although I did not receive the grade I was hoping, I really enjoyed Alex Glass's teaching. He is incredible enthusiastic about geology. I had NO interest in science AT ALL (Humanities, woot woot!), but his class got me hooked on learning more about the Earth. I know, sounds cheesy, but he's great :)
