Insulted class first day of semester, will spend 5-10 minutes on one slide then say it's classes fault he didn't finish all the slides for that chapter. Used Pearson homework, quizzes, and book, the homework and quizzes were confusing and not very helpful, but the book is pretty good. Tests weren't that difficult as long as you read the book.

Tough professor overall. Be prepared to read a lot and study well for his exams. Big curve at the end, though.

Class is very hard. He teaches at a graduate level to his students and moves very fast. He gives large curve, but it is still very hard. If you do not understand something, you need to see him ASAP, do not wait because he won't help you

He's an ok professor. I didn't get a whole lot out of his lectures (they are based entirely off of the book) but did pretty good since I just read the book. He is very funny but sometimes goes on tangents. There are two tests in CASA and two assignments for each chapter, and he grades on a curve.

Ff you do not show up to class you're going to fail. He dumped us with many assignments for practice, which take a lot of time and patience. Read the text book or you're screwed with his tests. He does explain very well in class but that's not enough. He also is very helpful individually. He expects the class to engage during lecture be prepared.

He is a good prof. Attendance isn't mandatory but I would definitely recommend showing up regularly. His tests are VERY hard but they're curved a lot. If you do the assignments, read the book, and show up at least more often than you skip, you should be fine. If you print off the chapter, read it, and then take it to class, you'll be golden.

Really hard class and hard teacher. Averages on tests are around 45s. He curves, but still really tough. If you read all the books required, then you will get at least a B-. He just hates lazy young people overall.

this teacher was okay. just be prepared to get stressed with the workload. as long as you study and understand to the best of your ability, it should not be too hard. the only good part about this teacher, despite of how he is, he does curves so in a way, he has some care and concern for students. overall, study a lot.

Extremely intelligent professor. You can really tell when someone actually enjoys what they're teaching because it makes the quality of the class that much better. Really good professor, some hard material, but overall, I'd definitely recommend him.

Vanwassenhove's class is tough. You're going to have to work at it, attend class and really follow along in lecture. He's an extremely smart man and really knows his economics. The tests weren't too bad. I almost never used the textbooks, just my notes, and ended with a B+, and I learned quite a bit. He talks about really interesting stuff too.

He makes class unnecessarily hard, incorporates formulas and etc,... that is graduate level, not needed in basic ECON class. If you do not know the answers to questions he will say "a 5th grader can do this". The Aplia Assignments he also makes harder, assignments are on criteria you do not go over in the book, search for answers on the internet.

LOTS and LOTS of reading. He curves his tests. Just make sure you do study and know the material. Remember your stuff from intermediate for this class.

On a good note, he has clear lectures and gets the point across, but wastes probably 5-10 minutes per class waiting on a correct answer, even when nobody knows. The homework is plenty and often. I got in the class one week late and missed 7 assignments, 6-10 are due per week online. Average based grade, I got a C for top 46% of class. DO NOT TAKE.

Very helpful professor, explains content with great clarity. Tests are very hard if you haven't read! So if you read and come to class aleast 80% of the time, you should be good

this professor is terrible DO NOT TAKE HIM! he gives too much homework, is very rude, takes off points if you email him on things he finds irresponsible (exam times, grades, etc.) very cocky, doesn't answer questions, gives you no help or review or even previous exams to study for the final. i get 95++ in all econ classes but this one ruined my GPA

Dr. Ross is a great guy, but teaches at a very high, fast-paced level for an intro econ class, especially for a core class. I'm very bad at anything math related as is, and he taught this class like it was a intermediate econ class and I could not follow one bit. Grades on a curve, lots of assignments. Wouldn't recommend if this isn't your major.

One of the best professors I had my freshman year. You come to class prepared to learn, Ross will reply by being as helpful as he can.If not, then your wasting your time. Read the chapter before the lectures (Go to lecture), do the Aplia assignments, and you will do fine. He curves big time, and also has a great sense of humor for an old man.
