ASTR 101 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

More scientist than teacher. Knows the subject material and lectures well, but expects an unreasonable level of autonomy. Does not remind you of due dates for assignments, even on the day its due. Assignments are difficult to understand. Online learning portion feels disconnected from lectures. Be prepared when entering this class. NOT AN EASY A.

This guy shouldn't be a teacher! He only dictaded the book and his test and exams did not match up with the study guied. He would test you on ch.9 and the test was on ch.10. It was horrable and his anwers to everything was read the book.

This class was fantastic, Cary is super helpful and very interested in the subject. The work is easy and the only real hard part of this class was the labs which were not a huge percentage of the final grade. This is a an easy class, he is not a bad teacher and these reviews are inaccurate. Cary is a great teacher and this was a fun class!

He does know his information, but he is terrible at teaching it. He expects you to know a lot before you get into the class. The class is way too hard he tries to merge two classes together as he feels this is important. He does not have a problem with singling out people and making fun of them. No morals and curses in class.

Mijo's class is unrealistic. I am in his Astronomy 101 class and he immediately threw us into the material without any foundation information about the basics of astronomy and embarrasses you if you don't understand it immediately. His lectures are interesting but his tests are outrageous and too advanced for a 101. He needs to be let go.

I am astonished to see that this guy is still a professor at Clark. He has never learned how to teach. He gets frustrated when asked to clarify concepts and his go-to excuse is that the students aren't smart enough to understand his explanations. He is difficult to work with, and has little to no respect for his students - even those who try hard.

Professor Cary teaches a hard class. He is upfront about that in the syllabus and he repeats it constantly for the first week of class. The material is interesting and challenging. Professor Mijo's teaching style is unique, and he is willing to answer all questions. I notice a lot of people take this class assuming an easy A. The tests are HARD

Out of a class of 25+ students the highest grade is a B- and everyone having to do extra credit to make up their grade just to pass says a lot. Perhaps teaching so everyone can understand and putting it to laymen terms would benefit. Not humiliating students when they dont understand is not good teaching methods. I'd ask the college to re-evaluate.

his tests dont often follow the book. he asks vague questions and then humiliates you in class when you dont understand what he asked. i will never take one of his classes again. I am normally an A students and i am barely passing.

Professor Mijo has unrealistic expectations. He actually told the class on the first day that if we had any real life responsibilities that conflicted with out ability to perform in his class we should abandon them (quit our jobs, ignore our children, etc.) He is condescending and harasses students for small mistakes. FIRE HIM PLEASE!
