"Get ready to read" "Skip class? You won't pass." "Lectures are long"

This is coming from someone who got an A in his class- he's tough, expects a lot of learningwork on your own time, and only gives 2 grades the entire semester. Each chapter there are two days (1 for slidesnotes, and 1 for hw). Skim the book, do the hw multiple times, make flashcards for the important concepts, ask questions and study!

"Get ready to read"

Garcia is the WORST professor I have had at BG. The grade is made up of two 50 MC exams with no curve. He doesn't really teach in class, just goes over the sides that the book made. He is impossible to contact. If you can wait and take a different prof. it's defiantly worth it!!!

ACCT 6210 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

Never lectured once, just group work. then criticizes you for not coming to class. Doesn't make assignments for grade unless someone doesn't do it, then he says it's for a grade just so the students who didn't do it receive a 0

MBA6030 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Fairly easy going and breaks up boring topics with real world stories from around the world. He does get on tangents, but overall I would recommend him as a professor! He is reasonable and will take exam questions into consideration. Most of the class walked away with a B or better (large amount of A's).

ACCT331 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Great teacher, is always willing to help students and will stop everything he is doing in order for them to understand concepts. Very approachable and always has a friendly attitude. His test are fairly easy if you study the notes and have a basic understanding from previous accounting class. Would definitely recommend him for other people.

He has expresses what I would view as a cynical view on the world in class and says inappropriate comments in class. He gives favoritism towards students who don't "rock the boat". As long as you agree with everything he says, you'll do fine. I would never recommend him to anyone. He is one of the worst professors I've ever had.

I really enjoyed this class. I actually thought it was pretty easy. Our grades were made up of two tests and a final. I think if you study the notes and do the homework problems, the tests are a breeze. I would definitely take Dr. Garcia again for another accounting course...

Garcias a nice guy, expects his students to already have an understanding of acct and teaches as if you already know what hes talking about. READ, that is the only way i learned, on my own. Exams are somewhat difficult, understand the text! Pay attention to inclass quizzes, reuses qs on upcoming exams and study old exams, reuses qs on the final!

He was a fantastic teacher! It seemed like he genuinely cared about his students, and our progress in his class. He really tried to bestow his love of accounting upon us. As an accounting major, I can't wait to take another class with him!

Tough teacher, but really knows his stuff and wants the students to learn. He talks a lot about his experience in the military.
