SOC30H Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: A-

Dr. Silver is a super nice lady. If you need help with anything (even looking for research opportunities) shell go out of her way for you. I have to say, when it came to projects I thought that I would be getting graded more toughly, but i got 100's on all of them. I guess that's a good thing, but I wanted a challenge. tests are semi-easy

Dr. Silver is very interesting. I recommend taking the honors course because it is a small class.

INSIPID. I get the feeling she's smart but the class is so dumbed down. You get the feeling that she thinks she's teaching a middle school sex ed class. Material was intolerably boring and easy. If you want a class that you can guess on the exams and get As, go ahead, but bring a book to class because you have to show up for clicker points anyway.

Stacy is an excellent professor who will bend of backwards to help her students understand the material. She is willing to sit with you and discuss exams and reaction papers and give you the resources to do your best. This is my second class with her and I would take more if they were offered. Class atmosphere is upbeat and entertaining.

Personally, I loved this class. You have to read, except its super interesting. Attendance is mandatory but honestly, she makes lectures so fun that you won't mind. Exams were easy if you read, and a six-year-old could write your reaction paper and you'll still get an A.

this class was horrible. Rather than giving us sociological research to look at we analyzed magazine articles that had been sensationalized and Stacy used them to prove whatever point she wanted about gender. This class teaches more about reality television than real life

This class taught ridiculous gender-stereotypes as facts. Professor Silver assigned articles from the 1960's that cited research FROM THE 1950's, and acted as if that information was current and up-to-date. The class is incredibly easy, but if you are an egalitarian it will most likely go against your core values.

Stacy is an amazing teacher and the information I learned from this class actually applies to many sitiations in my life. I really recommend taking this class. Her tests are fairly easy you just have to pay attention understand the material, especially the readings. All you have are tests and reaction papers which are a piece of cake.

Silvers makes class pretty interesting most of the time, but there are some lectures that are a bit dragging. This class is not very difficult as long as you study and read the provided texts. I just wished she did not put most of the emphasis on exams.

Very interesting class. Exams make you think, but they are not the extremely hard. There is also 4 reaction papers about class topics that only have a minimum of 300 words. They were not a big deal at all. Stacy is my favorite professor so far at Penn State.
