"Get ready to read" "Clear grading criteria" "Assignments galore"

Responds quickly and thoroughly to emails, but that is the only redeeming quality of this online class. Ridiculous, tedious, and time-consuming workload that makes you question your life choices. Also, the online teaching supplement she uses is pretty expensive. Can't speak for the classroom course, but definitely not worth.

HUMA 1302 Taken for Credit:Yes Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

As many others have stated this class is writing intensive. It would be a great class if this was the ONLY class you were taking. Due yourself a favor and read all ratings! started with 35 students ended with only 15.

Fantastic communication online. Yes, the work load is a little intense but I am so glad I took this class. I've gotten so much out of the project based learning. the online textbook sucks though, crappy format. I am an improved writer after this course and feel much more confident with MLA. Highly recommend if you actually want an education!

Prof Lauer's class is writing intensive. This is a given from the other reviews. If you accept that fact, the class is a lot of fun. She lets you write on a wide variety of topics and as long as you follow her basic paper guidelines, you can take the paper anywhere you want to. I had fun and the class interaction for a DL class was interesting.

The ebook rental is $65.00. The real books cost over $100.00 used. Essay tests every week. Five papers (one every three weeks.) Two chapters to read every week. Submit your papers by email and her blog. React to five other papers with intelligent questions. React to five questions on your paper. I feel like I am getting a doctorate.

WAY TOO MUCH work for an elective !!! WAY TOO MUCH work for an elective !!! She picks topics that ACC library doesn't have the books. Grading way too confusing. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE !!!! Unless you are a humanities major, don't waste the time with this. You'll spend half the semester at the U T libraries. Run, don't walk the other way.

Huge workload! took the Hybrid course and while the weekly group discussions are interesting and fun, the main assignments require HOURS of work. She is very helpful though and gives everyone her personal phone number to call to whenever you have a question.

WOW. unbelievable work load. I really cant believe she can give this much work with a clear conscience. I am an A student. Don't expect to get an a in her class if you aren't prepared to spend nine hours on ONE homework assignment or FOUR DAYS on research papers. Her grading is extremely subjective and rarely reflects the amount of work done.

online 5.5 wk summer course. A lot of work; the professor actually responds to my email questions (usually within the hour!) and was helpful. Overall decent professor, actually sends weekly email reports to let you know if you are on schedule. Would recommend taking a longer semester, 5.5 wks in tough for this workload.

HUMAI Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Half of the original students have dropped this class. The remaining half shows up part time. The lectures put people to sleep. She seems like she is flailing and doesn't feel comfortable in a class room setting. Perhaps she is better suited for distance learning.

The class was a lot of work, but it wasn't hard. She'll help you out if you need it, and is always there around the clock, even by phone! It's not a BS class, but it can be interesting if you put the effort.

Online course. Eh, it wasn't an easy class, as in not a blow off class, but it wasn't overly difficult to pass. She offered to help every turn of the road though.

A lot of work for her online course. She's very helpful though, for the large work load. It wasn't a bad course but it wasn't an easy A.
