Randy was awesome for Tax, made a dry subject entertaining. I've told a couple of others asking to take him for 285 and 384, I wish I would have taken him for both. Easy to get a 70 in his class with low effort, but in the effort and askpay attention and you can easily get a 90. 910 would take a different class with.

Didn't need textbook. Class was kinda boring but he truly cares about his students and is a great prof. Sometimes the classes are confusing because he jumps all over the place. Project was fun and a great learning experience. The exam questions were repetitive. You have to go to class for the in class audits and he will give you hints for exams.

Randy was way better teaching financial accounting and tax. In audit he was all over the place, especially with the projects. Instead of actually learning how to audit, you spend half of your time trying to figure out where to find your information. However, if you simply read his slides prior to exams you'll leave with at least an 80. Good and bad

Amazing prof. He's very passionate about teaching and the material. 2 midterms that aren't too difficult and 2 challenging/time-consuming, but useful, assignments. Would strongly recommend him.

Very hard class! So much information. I thought Randy did a good job, though I thought he taught personal taxes a lot better than corporate taxes. The second half of the class I was pretty lost in... 1 midterm, and 2 projects. Be prepared to work looong hours on the projects!

One of my favourite profs at the UofR. He is SUCH a good teacher that it is impossible not to understand basic accounting with his teaching. DO NOT take 285 from anybody else. Can't wait to take my advanced accounting classes from him! It's nice having a young prof who can relate to his students!

Randy is a great prof. His lectures are very clear and he is always there to help. He makes class fun and truly wants to see his students succeed. There are two midterms, a final and a short assignment. All long answers. Did not use the textbook once but unfortunately, had to buy it because the lab uses the WILEY online questions. Lab was useless.

Best prof I have had at the U of R, made me change my major to accounting after just his intro class. At times seemed like he was spoon feeding material to class, helpful after class always responds quick to email.

This class covers quite a bit of material but Randy presents it clearly and is very helpful. The projects require a fair amount of work but they help you start to develop how tax decisions are made in the real world. I would take another class with him.

Really helpful and responds to questions quickly. Class covers a lot of material. Slides provided are helpful, so don't need to do a lot of reading from the textbook. Enjoyed the class and would take a class from him again.

The classes were ok, his slides were thorough and easy to study from, he's helpful and responds to emails quickly. He let us know what to expect on the exams. The projects were not great as we weren't really taught how to use the tax program, this could be attributed to the lab instructor too though. The group project was difficult to do as a gro

Class covers a lot of material, but slides used help summarize the material covered. Projects are interesting but seem to take a bit of time to complete. Only tests material covered in class, which makes studying not to bad. Overall enjoyed the class and would recommend.

Seems to know his stuff, terrible at communicating it to students tho. Repeats himself a lot. Projects are useless. Should be good but you spend your time trying to figure out the software instead of actually learning tax. Makes tax harder then it is. Wouldn't recommend

Main problem is that he goes over material extremely fast! It's very difficult to follow along and makes for tons of work outside of class. Projects are very difficult and your given almost no assistance with using the software. Not too bad but wouldn't recommend.

He seems like a great guy but is lacking as a prof. He seems to rush through the material. He also tends to talk so fast that tricky concepts require a one on one explaination. He does hold "help sessions" prior to exams to ensure subjects are covered. Overall, not too bad.

BUS384 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Goes over material too fast. The project was hard as we weren't taught how to use the program very well which made it hard to figure out where to enter the information, and the lack of detail in teaching made it difficult to apply.
