It would be nice for Mr. Bousquet to show up to more classes than his students. Additionally, his constant quotation of himself (to the student populace) does not strengthen ethos, but verifies his overwhelming condescension. From taking his class, it is quite obvious students yet alone classes are NOT on his priority list.
ENGL138
You have to have some interest in new media to take this class, so if you do, you'll have no problem with the workload because it is quite repetitive. People sometimes complain about the workload, but that's because they may fall behind on the reading. Marc is VERY flexible with students busy schedules and often gives extensions to accommodate us.

I'd say he's an alright person, not such a great teacher. I was a transfer student last year so I took the course to help me get on track, it didn't help at all! Just lowered my gpa. I don't recommend him for this class, but Eng 2 is easier. thisis upper division, & quite frankly, i dont think he knows how to handle an upper div course

Hardest prof ever! Ive taken many hard classes (eng. and science) at SCU, but this guy does not know how to teach! Dont take him, you WILL regret it! no joke.

Really don't need to put much effort into work that you do. As long as your website looks good, you will be graded well. Don't expect to learn how to write, and he is EXTREMELY condescending. Overall, an easy teacher because he just talks about his accomplishments all the time, and thinks his course is hard so cuts you some slack.

Do NOT take his course. Unless you love creating websites, do not be fooled into thinking his technological english courses have anything to do with writing. He's condescending and gives WAY too much homework. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

Bousquet gives a RIDICULOUS workload; you will feel like you are in over your head the majority of the quarter. In addition, he is the epitome of the English teacher who is too smart for his own good. He is condescending and no one ever knows what he is talking about.

Hands down, one of the best teachers i've had at this school. Took him for both ENGL 2 and ENGL 138. If you like writing unconventionally, i.e. for websites, take this class. His class is taught like a seminar, and he is extremely flexible if you get swamped with work.

Huge workload, dense readings and lectures, you'll feel like you're in way over your head most of the time, but fret not-- Bousquet is quite forgiving. A genius and, if you love learning, the kind of person who makes you want to try hard in his class. BUT not recommended for anyone who has little-no interest in new media.

Please avoid this professor at all costs. I took him for Eng 2 and he was alright then but for Eng 138 he is extremely unreasonable with the workload. Granted the class is a double dipper, it is far more work than if you were to take two classes separately (although he is farely flexible). He is very demeaning to students. I dread going to class.

whoever wrote that other evaluation is totally disturbed. i think everyone dreads english II, but his class was not only tolerable but beneficial. it's more like a seminar, and classes are more like conversations. and duh the class is about websites, it's called "writing with new media". he's a great professor, very flexible.
