Explains things very well, and if you don't understand it he takes the time to explain it perfectly without focusing so much on your question that the rest of the class is bored. Tests are very fair and if you do the practice labs and understand them you'll be good for the exams and assignments.

Great teacher, very professional. A rare type of person who has a diplomatic character similar to Obama. I've only met 3 people in my life who have this calm and collected mannerism.

Fantastic prof. Knows the material well, explains it with clarity, and is very witty. He is a strict grader. CPS393 is easier if you have prior programming experience and/or have used a BASH shell in the past.

This professor explains things pretty well. And much of what is on the exam is from class. But he is a HORRIBLY strict grader. Plus the second textbook to learn C from is a classic (cuz the authors invented the C Language) but is, once again, HORRIBLE to learn from. What were they thinking? Its more of a reference than a learning book!

Knows how to teach! Boggles the mind why he's not been hired full-time with some more perks.. His tests are hard, but I've never learned this much in a course before. You will learn to love to hate 6809, it'll bring the class together.

Excellent proff. Had him for CPS393. Easy to understand, lots of examples, tests/labs match course work, not too hard but not easy either.

Quite simply one of the best profs I've ever had. He is such an amazing lecturer that he makes all the material seem as simple as grade school. It's just about impossible not to learn the material with ease and confidence with him. He is also very caring and helpful. Highly, highly recommended.

He can teach very well... The material is difficult though. His midterm was okay but his final was difficult as well.. Avoid the class but not the prof. :)

Hiraki is a model prof. He knows his subject, keeps a good balance between theory and practice, is very interesting to listen to, you need to study & practice to do well on his tests and he is extremely helpful.
