Everyone says how hard her final is, but if you've kept up, I didn't think so. She's very organized and provides tons of info. However, I will say that occasionally, her lists and organization get in the way and muddle the message. Also, I know some students were made a little uncomfortable because she is very open about being super conservative.

Go to class and study the old exams! Her lectures are not mandatory, but they are mandatory for a good grade. She explains everything - and you self learning is time consuming. Study the old exams before the tests - and overview the conepts/definitions and you should be fine. Do well on the regular tests, caus the final is awful.

The pacing of the class revolves around her lecture notes. They're very thorough about covering every step in the homework, but they can be fairly hard to read sometimes since there is usually some info./shorthand abbreviations that clutters up and obfsucates the homework problem solving procedure. Exams are hard and are heavily based on homework.

I've never had a professor go to the lengths Dr. Pierce does in providing resources to assist students in learning & succeeding in her class. She tells exactly what she expects you to learn & spends a great deal of time covering the material. The subject matter is difficult, so do not expect it to be easy. But Dr. Pierce goes the extra mile to help

I loved her. The workload is tremendous, but she does everything she can to help. She quickly answered emails with questions throughout the semester. Do the old exams thoroughly. Every time. Cram examples of how to do everything on your fact sheets. The final is really tough and the whole class will still be there five minutes before it ends.

Very poor quality, she doesn't really teach you anything just goes over what she's written down verbatim. Her tests are mostly guesswork, she admits that nobody could memorize all of the content openly, you have to guess which minute detail to put on your fact sheet (with almost no help from her). You'll be hard pressed to find someone worse.

This is a hard and thorough class but it is very fair. Dr. Pierce/Hall works incredibly hard to teach the class and make the information relevant. She is available to provide extra help as needed. Study the old tests and prepare to spend a great deal of tim on the subject.

By far the easiest accounting class I took during undergrad. She provides you with more than enough study material. My advice to anyone taking her: first, your cheat sheet is the most important thing and second, although her first 3 exams are easy the final is rough so make sure you have a good cushion to maintain your desired grade.

This class is challenging. But this is a graduate class and if you are planning to take the CPA, it's a fantastic class and you will learn a lot. Be prepared to work hard and study. She provides notes so you don't have to spend the class writing. Yes, her exams are hard, but they are very similar to the old ones she gives and she curves.

First review I've written on here and the only reason I am is because this is the most ridiculous class I've taken. Tax is hard and I understand that but it doesnt have to be as hard as she makes it. Cool teacher and funny but test are incredibly hard. If you have the choice between her or another teacher take the other one no matter who.

As other raters said, tests are extrememly detailed & she does not go over a lot of homework in class, although solutions to all assigned problems are available online. It would be helpful if she would either let us use at least one page of notes on exams or the textbook -- not the Code/Reg. book as it is written in legal terms & not very helpful.

Her tests are extremely detailed and impossible to get right unless you've read every line of text from the textbook. For example, you miscalculate because you forgot that 2008 Taxpers get a 1000 credit if they paid mortgage interest (on top of having it included in Itemized deductions). Minor details will cost you points. Very difficult to get an
