I LOVE CARTER! The class was mainly discussions and he doesn't teach much on the textbook material, but this is what a professor should be like. The quizzes, exams are really easy if you read the textbook. Case studies and group projects are easy as long as he see you put work into it. Go to his office hours if you need help. He is awesome!!!

The Worst Professor I've eve had. Doesnt teach you anything and doesn't respond to emails. Memorize MML questions and you'll do fine on the exams.

He is a terrible professor. He will not discuss ANYTHING over email which makes getting simple and small things a hassle to get worked out. I would recommend NOT taking any course with him teaching it it. You will regret it and learn very little as well.

Some of the questions on his exams test on material we haven't learned yet! Other than that, the questions are rather straight forward, the textbook is useful, attendance is mandatory because of clicker questions, the grading is lenient and there are plenty of opportunities for extra credit. 3 exams, no final, 1 big project, quiz every week.

Extremely easy class. Exams were all my marketing lab questions and quiz questions. Answers to quiz questions are all online. Make sure you do research studies and go into class because he counts the clicker questions a lot. This class is a literal joke

My biggest word of advice - READ THE TEXTBOOK!!!! I don't know why people don't do it, they think that powerpoints are enough. Let me tell you people, the slides are NOT enough. He has so much info on the exams directly from the book AND MML. I got a 97 on the first exam, went downhill to the 80s but I still got an A, thanks to the crazy EC.

This is a really easy class. He offers a ton of extra credit and almost all the exam questions come straight from My Mktg lab. You have to go to class every day for clicker points and the extra credit. He's a terrible teacher though you won't have a clue what is going on during class and he doesn't answer emails or allow students to review exams

Terrible. Tries to relate to the students and fails. You sit there and take notes that you think will be useful so you study them like crazy only to find out that absolutely 0% of it is on the exam. He only used MML questions. He doesn't teach. Don't take this class. I changed my major and switched out of the college of Business because of him.

This was one of my least favorite business core classes yet. He's so boring and really doesn't seem to go out of his way at all to help his students. I got mid-80's on most of my exams, but still ended up with an 'A' in the class because of all the extra credit. I honestly feel I didn't learn anything in there. Exams are mostly My MKT Lab questions

1) If you have a genuine interest in marketing, this class is no good 2) Goal of the class is to get to 930 points (3 exams @ 300 & participation @ 100). Only have to attend 80% of class for full cred. My semester he gave over 80 points of extra cred. Bottom line - take the class at a time you will actally go, sit on your laptop do excred for an A

Classes are boring and disorganized. To be honest I really didn't learn much. Make sure you get MyMarketingLab because a lot of questions on exam are from there but compared to other semesters, he is using less. There is so much extra credit so it's an easy A. But brace yourself for a boring lecture and not learning much about marketing.

I would say avoid but he's the only mktg 301 professor... Just memorize the mymarketinglab questions and go to class for clicker participation and do extra credit.

Keeps class interesting, but many exam questions are based on opinion, not solid facts. But if you just memorize all the questions on mymarketinglab, you'll do fine. They're exactly the same on the exam. Tons of extra credit, very easy to get an A.

Don't buy the text book. Buy my marketing lab separately. Class was a joke. Feel bad for the guy considering it was in 100 thomas and he allowed for us to use our laptops. He didn't stand a chance of creating interesting lectures. Put in minimal effort and you will get an A

Easily the worst professor I've had at Penn State. Class is mandatory because of clickers, but the most boring and pointless class. Exam are just questions from mml and then there are his questions, which are completely random and impossible to prepare for. Thankfully theres a ton of EC.

He's the worst professor I have had at Penn State, easily. The class, however, is also pretty easy, especially if you do all of the extra credit and sit through lectures to get the clicker points. Most of the exam questions are on MML, but good luck with the others because he just makes them up with the tiniest details from class.

He's a nice guy, but the entire class is pointless. He copies and pastes 60% of the exam questions straight from MML and the rest of the questions are either general definitions or questions that nobody knew the answers to. Stupid ETM class.

He is a nice guy. Class is boring, but you have to go to get your clicker points. There are tons of extra credit point and he pretty much tells you everything you will be tested on. Really hard not to get an A, but you just have to sit through his unorganized, boring lectures to get participation points.
