Dr. V is history professor at NSU with the most mixed reviews. It seems people either love him or hate him. I liked his classes but I also a history major. Be sure to show up to every class and participate in the discussions.

NO CELLPHONES in his class, show up everyday since he takes attendance. Keep all your notes for use on his tests because they are all "open notes". Also, he requires you to bring your book and use it in class. Very thick accent and somewhat difficult to understand at first but you get use to it.

Dr. V is a fantastic teacher. He has a deep knowledge and love of his subject. Make sure you answer all the book questions, and write down every powerpoint slide. Show up to class. Turn your phone off. If you do these things, you'll make an A no sweat.Quizzes are easy, paper grades are lax, and he'll even critique it for you before it's due. 10/10

Dr. Vovchenko is among one of my favorite teachers. He's very jovial and obviously loves his topic, and he's funny too. The quizzes are open note, so if you write down the powerpoints as well as take notes for the questions from the books, you should be fine. His accent isn't difficult to understand, but he does speak quickly.

He is by far my favorite teacher I ever had. He is incredibly nice and thoughtful while expressing intelligent and critical thinking through what is being studied. If you ever get him as a teacher all you have to really do to pass the class is to pay attention in class, take notes, and TRY!!!!

If your not a reader you will be. Expect 20 page reading assignments each class, some you may understand and some you may not. Each class you answer two questions, make sure you have answers, they make up the quizzes/midterm/and final. 10 paper is not bad, he doesn't grade too hard on papers. He is easy once you understand what he wants.

I love his classes. Compared to the other professors he is the nicest and funniest. You really have to read the book and answer all the questions so you can't blow the class off. Easy A if you're prepared and do the work.

This is a summary of this class: It is reading intensive, and if you don't read and can't answer Vovchenko's questions he will embarrass you in group and/or class discussion. Read, read, read. Take LOTS of notes on the individual text assigned question. Don't let your cell phone make a peep in class.

He's as nice as he can be. Answer EVERY question in the book and write down EVERY powerpoint slide.(If you don't you can't pass the class) Attendance is crucial to your grade and you won't learn much bc the book isn't a typical history textbook. If you devote time to the homework it's an easy class.

I would recommend that students should NOT take his class. I learned absolutely nothing. I read all of the sections that were assigned and took all notes & still made a D because my opinions didn't match his.

Online class. Atrocious amounts of reading, 10 min 2 question quizzes that are impossible to do well on. Discussion boards are opinion based but if your opinion does not line up or you leave one fact off you are deducted points. Take this class in class if you can. Instructor consumed with busy work mentality, only take if you have no other optio

Online course. 1/3 class dropped. He had almost 0 involvement except when grading. Appears to grade on agreement with his opinion. Dr. V. lied about the course expectations prior to registration, I guess he just wanted to get the enrollment #'s up. I will never take any of his classes again! Took the fun out of History. Avoid him to save your GPA!

Dr. V is definitely not the easiest professor you will have but you WILL learn from him. He expects you to do the homework and to participate in class discussions. He has no tolerance of electronic devices in his classroom.

Never had him for lower level classes, but his upper level courses are the easiest on campus. Read, read, read! That's all you have to do. His grading of papers is by far the best. You just have to follow the guidelines and you get an automatic C. The quizzes have caused me some grief, but once you get the hang of them they are easy A's.

I HATED this class. I am a biology major with a 3.8 GPA and had to drop it bc his study guides were nothing related to his exams and I would've had a D even though i never missed class.you have to read anywhere between 10-30 pgs of text BS before each lecture. his slideshows suck and he can't teach. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Avoid his classes like the plague. Russian immigrant that is hard to understand. Freshmen level class that is harder than any of the 4000 level classes I have ever taken. No way to be prepared for the tests becuase the study guide is worthless.

Early Western Civ teacher. Don't take this course to replace Humanities like I did. His tests have nothing to do with his lectures. He lectures off topic about everything that is not on the test. He expects you to read alot and interpet the reading like he does. this is a 1000 level class which he does not teach as such. I will prob withdraw
