This was the most inspiring and interesting class I've taken in years, possibly ever. Mark knows a great deal about the subject having worked so closely with local Indian tribes as a lawyer. He teaches unbiasedly but he clearly has deep compassion for the tribal community. This class inspired me to pursue more studies in Native culture.

Mark is a great teacher who is very passionate about the subject. As others have said the book is pointless he tests based on his lectures so take good notes. He is always willing to explain things indepth and answer any questions. He is a great teacher, one of the best teachers ever!

I took his AIS 102 class and he did a great job. The book is pointless. He builds the test on what he covers in class. The grading consists of 3 quizzes non-accumulative (25% each) a paper (20%) and class participation (5%). All in all a great teacher wish he taught more!

Professor Vezzola is a lawyer so teaching about US/Indian Political Systems makes for a perfect fit! He is great, fun and really knows how to make you retain information taught. Provides great study guides prior to quizes. The ONLY drawback I find is that he allows to people to just stroll in sometimes 2 hours after class has started.
