"In the Facebook Age" is one of the best classes I have taken. What a combination of intriguing topics, hands-on exercises (experiencing the very things we're studying), and great class discussion! Prof. Murthy has a remarkable ability to facilitate class discussion to get students involved and push us further. And he plays a great devil's advocate

Really great personality and makes every class, I've been in (3) a seminar-style class. Keeps students engaged and really useful when writing papers. He makes students blog, which can be tedious but it's really to make sure the class is great. He's accessible and wants to maximize the experience of every student. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I have taken several classes with him and he continues to improve. He wants to engage every student, which he does with blog entries, which are helpful in understand readings. Super accessible. He's helped me with papers the day before they were due and gave me a good grade. Expects students to really dedicate themselves to the class though.
