I think Dr. Duffy is awesome, she plays devil's advocate amazingly, very passionate, her papers are easy, but her tests, they're pretty decent, but you need to prepare or you won't do as well, even though I didn't read the book I still got a B+, since I tend to like History.

Great class, great professor! Learned a lot. There is a lot of work but not midterm or final. She said exactly what she expected on papers and was a very fair grader.

She is awful! Comes in the class on her high horse and is very condescending, demeaning and makes it known that she's aware and proud of it! Is way too unrealistic with her demands from the students and expects you to be perfect even though no one in the world is perfect including her!!! Does not try to connect with students! Avoid her!!!

Notes have nothing to do with the quizzes. If you miss a paper or quiz you will fail the class. Need to manage your time for this class. Overall was interesting.

Dr. Duffy is a great professor. It is obvious she is passionate about what she does. I took her for a methods class for teacher prep. She gives great ideas to future teachers and trully wants to set them on the right path. She is tough, but she has to be for the future teachers.

Dr.Duffy is a really good teacher if you pay attention and do all the reading no test just papers and for your final you will have to write a 10 chicago style research paper

I loved DR. DUFFY. She is excellent at what she does. You can tell she has a passion for teaching and history. Show up to class and do the work. It isn't hard to give her what she wants because she's really interested in what the students have to say. How would you have changed history? The exams in class are simple, take notes and pay attention.

She is definately devoted to what she is teaching. she is stict, however if you are having an issue in the class she is more than willing to help. you must do the reading, but you are in college-suck it up. she seems really tough, but she just wants the best from her students. definately will take her again. intreseting class!!

Dr. Duffy totally changed my views of history. Before her class I hated history and had never been truly interested. She makes every class interesting and fun. Attendance is mandatory and she is strict grader but she is totally fair. If you do the work it will pay off but if youre lazy and want an easy A. Don't bother taking the class.

She's very devoted to her work, though she can be tough, especially for those students who don't come FULLY prepared. Honestly, it depends on the student, you might want to meet her before taking one of her classes.

You must do the readings for her class, some of which are hard and soem of which are easy, but mostly they're interesting. I loved her in the beginning, but when she kicked the majority out for not being prepared I was pretty pissed, she made her point just fine BEFORE she dismissed us. Still like the class, unsure of her attitude sometimes
HIST149
AVOID HER !!! She has an attitude for no reason, makes class boring, talks too much about unnecessary things, unless you want to fail DO NOT take this class !!

I thought she was a great professor. If you do the weekly questions, you can use your notes on the pop quizes. You can't fail. The midterm and final are tough but are take homes. Her lectures are very informative. She actually made history interesting for me.

well i was supposed to have another teacher but she was switched to my class. i thought that she would be a good teacher until she started pulling out pop quizes and not following her syllabus... she changed the syllabus three times and is so confusing her lectures are good but her teaching and structure is horrible.... i would not reccommend her..
HIST398
She's a nut, she flipped out during one of the classes and dismissed half the class for not being prepared for class. Accused the students of "sponging" off her intellect, which I thought teaching would be an obvious pre-requisite to becoming a professor. The word Duffer comes to mind, which is derived from the golf term to duff or to shank a ball.
