Take Salveson for 112. Just do it. A lot of people have complained in the past on this site that he doesn't have enough examples. Well now he has tons of example problems done on videos that he posts online, which is much more useful to a student than examples in class. If you want to learn, take his class. If you want an easy A, take someone else.

Salveson was an extremely helpful professor. I enjoyed his class a lot. We had a bit of a clash at the beginning of the semester where he said some harsh words, but he later apologized and that gave me an immense amount of respect for the man. If you are ok with working for your grade, Salveson will be a good fit for you.

Salveson has got to be the best teacher I have had at Sac State thus far. He uses many different teaching techniques to ensure that every student has the opportunity to learn the material (some students are visual learners other do better with equations and theory, etc.).Overall I have really enjoyed being in his class and hope to have him again.

Salveson is my favorite professor at Sac State. His lectures (CE 112/164) are clear and to the point, providing an in depth and overall understanding of the subject. He is very helpful in class and during office hours. His test are difficult and tend to come from left feild, so can be stressfull, but he grades the class on an end-of-semester curve.

Honestly, a really good professor. He takes pride in his teaching. Teaches thorough derivations, examples, and overall good lectures. Learn a lot from the class. Material is difficult, so expect a lot of work. But if you work hard, you will pass. Very good teacher for engineering classes.

Very intelligent man, but has a hard time conveying info. in a way that makes sense. Class time=derivations and vocabulary lessons. True applications and sample homework problems are NOT solved in class.Office hours, he is helpful. Overall to expect everyone to have to go to your office hour to understand the homework is ridiculously time consuming

A lot of people have negatives things to say about him, but I think that overall he was a pretty good teacher. His homework standard is a bit tedious, but it's all in the good name of professionalism. It's definitely not an easy class. You're grade reflects how much effort you put into it. He is also very helpful if you seek out his help.

He is more focused on avoiding questions than answering them and leaves questions unanswered. He is very intelligent and knows his stuff but has no idea how to impart the knowledge. Class time is wasted since we have no idea how to do homework after class. We have learned a lot, mostly from having to spend exorbitant amounts of time on this class.

NOT a good teacher. He spends most of his time doing derivations. There are few example problems worked in class. He responds poorly to anything resembling dissatisfaction with his teaching. He stated the book is useless. Thanks for making us pay $230 for it. His project is ill planned and his answers to questions are vague. Avoid at all costs!

Basically, his class is not an easy A but neither is it impossible. In fact it is very passable with some effort and his help if you need it. He makes himself very accessible to his students and is helpful. HW is time consuming so don't take with a crazy load of units like i did.

Very hard teacher, had to spend most of my time on this class. Hw is hard and time consuming. However i did learn quite a bit. Not a bad teacher, he just expects a lot of you.

He doesn't do many example problems, mostly derivations the whole lecture. Homeworks and tests are NOT easy, but he grades on a curve. Nice guy, but not an easy teacher and this is not an easy guy! So think before you choose his class)) but he's not the worst teacher...
