Just like any language class, you need to go to class, you need to do the homework and you must put effort into it. Dr. Baeva is a wonderful teacher who wants you to succeed and does all she can to help you do so. It's hard, but also fun! I really recommend this class!

She is like a cloud-wrestling sky goddess. She is not like us mortals.

Dr. Baeva is a very difficult professor. The course work is tedious and is a lot of busy work. She plays movies in class, but then complains that we were behind. We didn't even finish the textbook. She missed several days of class and she clearly has favorites. I did not enjoy taking her class and will not take any others that she is teaching.

This is an exceptionally hard class, but she makes it as easy as she can. Class is immersion; she only speaks in Russian when possible, including explanations. She has an accent but is understandable. She is perfect and wears heels to class everyday. 60% of our class dropped due to difficulty of the language, but not because of her. 85% BOOKWORK!

Class material extremely hard and often doesnt make sense. Dr. Baeva is amazing though, she will explain anything to you until you understand. She is wonderful and passionate about having students understand the material. Stories are strange and the students analyze thier meanings. Lots of reading, tons of it, take if you arent taking anything else

Really intensive class, but if you do the workbook and study, you'll do fine. She's actually a pretty lenient grader when it comes to writing Russian paragraphs.
