She is a great teacher. You can get a good grade as long as you do all your homework and try to show your effort. I got 4.0 in her class.
ENGL101
This lady does whatever it takes to insure student success. Her expectation of accountability made me learn things that I used in every class I took after hers. To this day, I still employ skills I learned from her. Roxy is a member of that upper echelon of the best instructors ever. If you are willing to work, her classroom is the place to be. A+!

Good teacher, you can learn many things, but it's so hard to get a high grade, even you attend the class everyday,it's enough. If you have no matter with your GPA, choose that.

Most wonderful teacher I have had at this school. Really clear, helpful and you will learn SO much! No matter who else you have I agree: Drop the class and take Roxy Hornbeck! She is hard and gives lots of work but it's really worth it.

Lots of work for a three credit class, but do it, and you will do well. Roxy is very very helpful and very very clear on what she wants you to learn.

If you take English from other professor at SCCC (like Paul Croon), drop it and take Roxy class. Her class, with her teaching style, obstacle doesn't exist. take her class and you become the best writer. Especially when you have questions, she will spend time with you and answer all your questions. and Just by looking at her u will never get bored.

The absolute best instructor I've ever had. There is no word that sums up how great of a teacher she is. The closest that comes to mind is 'incredibulous'. An inspiring combination of intellect, rebellion, beauty, and an unrelenting exuberance that's exceeded only by her saint-like dedication to teaching. And I use no hyperbole. A gift to students.

She is fantastic! I appreciate her because she really cares about students fully understanding the lessons. To Roxy, it's more than just receiving a good grade at the end of the quarter. She teaches many important lessons (& values!). If your willing to LEARN Roxy's the way to go!
