Online course, so is there really an instructor? Here, not so much. I'm sure Kregenow is an ok teacher in person, but the online classroom isn't her forte.

She is a great teacher. She is very interested in the subject and gets very excited. She shows fun video clips and does in class demonstrations. Pretty easy class. She will help you out and tries to learn everyone's names. Highly recommend her.

Dr. Kregenow is the most amazing professor I have ever met. She is super nice and helpful. I can learn a lot from her lecturer. In addition, she really knows how to teach students very well. She is very clear about her lectures and really understand students. I just like her so much. She is amazing!!!!

She is very passionate about astronomy but class can be confusing and she forces you to participate and even though this is a 2 credit class it feels like a 3 or 4 credit with the amount of hw and the exam material is very difficult. She can be all over the place and teaches an extensive amount of work. The class just was not that great overall.

Helpful, attentive, will work with you on a one on one basis even if you are taking her online classes. Intelligent, witty, and interesting. I recommend taking her classes, you will learn a ton if you choose to take it seriously. If you just want to pass an easy class without thinking; don't take her class. She will bring out the best in you

She is honestly one of the most inspiring people i have had the privilege of meeting. She is interesting, fun and loves the subject (a professor who loves their subject, finally!) I was sort of interested in the subject before, but now, i love it!! take this class with her, its amazing! except the tests SUCK. study the hw, and extra credit, do it!

Shes a really friendly person and you can tell she is passionate about astronomy but she tries to teach way to much information each class without being certain anyone understands. Attendance is definitely mandatory, you wont do well at all if you don't show up and take rigorous notes. The tests are excruciating and the homework is hard.

She is quite possibly the worst teacher I have had on any level of school bar none. She seems completely incompetent, essentially insults your intellegence the first month of class with the easiness level, and makes otherwise interesting material completely boring.

I would study for hours for tests and then do mediocre. The homework didn't help considering I would get 100% on them. As far as the math goes, she's all over the place. I was able to do the in class problems, then on the tests wouldn't know where to start. Lectures were graded for attendance and boring. Simply put, the class is frustrating.

This woman turned me on to science. I feel like people who don't like her just don't like science and needed a credit. (This might be hard for an intro class, but extremely stimulating). Julia treats you like equals (hence me calling her Julia). She LOVES astro and is NOT boring. To this day, she's the best prof I've had.

Worst professor ever in the nearly 4 years of my time with Penn State. She is a disgrace to the school!

Very boring some days and overly energetic other days, reminds me of a preschool teacher. I thought the class was very easy. Just show up and answer clicker questions. I got a 100 on the first two midterms and final while doing Sudoku every day in class. If you know scientific notation and can memorize charts, take it. Use wikipedia for homework.

Shes nice but the class is brutal. She drops one of three tests so you can afford a poor score, but lecture is mandatory. You have clicker questions every day and you will need to answer every clicker question or you only get a fraction of the day's participation. I love astronomy but I couldnt stay interested in this class. I wouldn't suggest it.

I hated going to this class. It was my easier class last semester, but i got a B because i couldn't stay interested. If you just suck it up, go to class, and take notes, you will come out successful, but if you want a fun astronomy course, don't take this one. She shows cool pictures of space and stuff, but shes very boring, and can have her moods.

She wasn't a terrible teacher but was boring at times. She is VERY interested in Astronomy. She drops you lowest mid-term exam which was helpful. Attendance is important since she uses clickers.

DO NOT listen to people who say she's a terrible teacher and this class is impossible. I ended up with an A in this class even though I got a 75 on the first two exams because she drops 1 of 3 exams at the end. Going to class helps your grade because she uses a clicker. Do the study guide and look over previous HW problems to get an A.

Class is not always interesting but I have never had a prof who is more interested in the subject she teaches. Tests can be hard but if you study the notes you will do ok. She is fair and is extremely helpful in office hours. She DOES give extra credit and though class is not mandatory it is helpful. I would say to take if you need a science...

DON'T TAKE HER. This class should NOT be difficult as an intro class yet she makes it seem so. She bounced all over the place. She wasted most of the time quieting the class and asking people to answer some questions. Sorry but this is not elementary/middle school. Her exams differ from what she lists on the study guide. Her "curve" doesn't help nor make sense.
