Can be intimidating at first, but that is just to weed out those who dont take the course as serious as they should. Over time students find him extremely helpful and even funny.

Dr. Raya is one of my favorite professors of all time. He's hard and critical can be critical, but if you try hard and do the work he asks he'll reward you. He doesn't use books and wants you to find the information you need on your own. He's GREAT!

If you have the interest, he is a great teacher. Many people that take this class do not express a lot of interest therefore end up not liking the teacher. If you are seriously interested in this subject however, he will go out of his way to help you.

BEST professor ever!!! Dr. Raya is super laid back, takes his time with students, and definitely keeps the class interesting by providing you with current info. I would recommend this professor to any one.

Not for everyone. He does not assign hw so you need to do a lot of reading on your own. We didn't do a ton for labs. He really wants people to do well, 4 tests, a final and 1 paper. He will answer all your questions, and lectures off slides he posts on blackboard.

DO NOT TAKE HIM!! If you have you have a choice dont choose him. I had him for biotech and he was horrible. He belittled you in front of everyone. when he lectured it would leave you even more confused than you previously were.
