BI203 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: D

If you want whats best for your gpa, stay as far away from this class as possible. Basically reads from slides the entire time. Showing up to class means nothing because his exams utilize random little details from the textbook that are nearly impossible to remember considering the amount of dense text that must be read. Take BI213 instead.

While he had PowerPoints to help guide the lecture and he gave bonus points on exam by answering inclass questions, the material was boring and it made him boring. Very hard to stay awake in his 90 min class. Try going to the lectures for the first exam, and it doesn't reflects in your grade. Try self teaching yourself the material.

BI 108 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

He clearly knows a lot about Bio but is NOT a good teacher. When he poses questions to the class, he often talks over students as they're answering. He is very condescending & seems to think everything should be as simple to us as it is to him. He also runs over time a lot, which isn't a big problem unless you have another class right after his.

Ridiculous. He picks the most obscure terms that were mentioned once or twice in the text and includes them on tests, expecting us to have read every single word on every page.

BI203 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

His lectures could be a bit dry and fast-paced with a lot of memorization, but that's just the nature of the course, and he presents the material in a very logical way. You don't have to read except for the key experiments, and everything on the tests is in lecture, though it can be any detail. Just make sure to read his exam questions carefully.

He isn't that bad!! Sit in the front row of the lectures, pay attention, and read and you can be very successful. His exams can be worded funny, but just be smart about it and assume he is trying to be tricky and you'll get A's!!

BI 203 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

He really is passionate about Biology, however his exams are leagues of difficulty outside of where they should be. The majority of questions are "trick" questions. So if you want to pass exams, you need a better understanding of bio than simply the book. You need to be able to connect complex ideas within the book and realize what's wanted.

TERRIBLE professor. Ruined my interest in Biology. Not only is the material tedious to begin with but he takes boring lectures to a whole new level. This class is pure memorization of random details from the text and his tests are multiple choice but designed to trick you. Avoid taking this class with him at all costs.

Epitome of useless professors! His tests are multiple choice and require you memorize little details from the textbook. If he wasn't too lazy to make/grade an open response test, maybe he would realize that his students actually know their stuff and are just caught off guard by his tricky and unfair multiple choice questions.

Terrible! His lectures are basically word for word from the textbook & most of the test is the information in the textbook he doesn't talk about in class. The only reason you should go to lecture is for clicker questions because he gives you points on your lowest test grade. Honestly, to be successful in this class read the textbook & memorize it.

Frank is a smart guy, but a terrible teacher. His power points are regurgitated from the textbook, and all he does in lectures is read off his slides. The only reason anyone goes to his lectures are the silly clicker questions. Monette should stick to research much like you should stick to a different cell bio professor.

Monette is the worst professor at BU, hands down. His lectures are useless, his slides are somewhat helpful if you've done the initial readings from the textbook. He doesn't really teach you how to think critically about answering questions; instead, he simply regurgitates what is presented in the textbook.

BI281 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Entire class is taught by reading from powerpoins, which consisted largely of pictures and text from the book. Of course, we are responsible for all material in the assigned reading, much of which is very minute detail never covered in lecture. Basically, expected to memorize the textbook in order to do well.

Professor Monette is absolutely useless as a teacher. It would be a much better use of your time to sit and read the textbook during lecture than to listen to what he is saying. His tests are absolutely unreasonable, and the only thing that can somewhat prepare you is to memorize the textbook. Other than that, daily prayers may help as well.

Bi 203 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Well recognized as one of the worst biology professors at BU, Monette can bore any one to death. His lectures simply recycle information from the textbook, while offering no further clarity or explanation. Also tends to be condescending in office hours.

Easily the worst professor I have ever had, and by far the worst at BU so far. His lectures are completely worthless. He expects you to memorize the textbook, and then has random things from his lectures on the test that he never spent time on. His tests are so poorly worded, and when I came in to tell him about a contradiction, he ignored me.

3 of his exam questions had two right answers in them. He could not prove me otherwise and even though he knew the questions of the exams were wrongly formulated, he did not cancel the questions.

Worst professor I've ever experienced. Had him for BI 108 and hoped to never see him again, alas he taught BI 203 as a last minute change of plans. all test questions on minuscule details from the book that he barely goes over. MEMORIZE ENTIRE CHAPTERS FOR EXAMS

Pretty awful, one of the worst professors at BU and probably anywhere. He was so rude via email and usually in lecture. He's unfair as his notes don't really reflect the test material. The textbook is your bible! His practice questions were very helpful however, as well as the book questions. The student tutors are pretty helpful.

The best Cell biology professor. He was wonderful and very helpful. Compared to Prof Cooper who wrote the book, he is leagues better. He explained everything in detail and actually wants you to learn. Highly recommend to take him over any other professor for cell bio.
