CSCE 145 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Really disappointed that he didn't even make a single appearance in lecture. Homework is incredibly vague. The exams are not too hard because they are open book/note but labs are frequently on material that we haven't yet covered in lecture which is extremely frustrating. TAs just read lecture slides so that's basically a waste of time.

He doesn't even teach it himself! The communication between TAs is horrid. I'm constantly arguing points back because the homework is so vague. labs are consistently on material we haven't even covered in lecture. The lab TAs think we're stupid because of it. Lecture is pointless, the TA reads the slides he makes. Biggest waste of my time.

Huhns' class is quite tough. His tests and lab tests are really hard but he curves them a lot. His lectures are pointless and they don't help with the homework he assigns you. I got most of my learning through the SI leaders. I recommend you to go to SI because they will help you unlike Huhns.

The lecture teaches you very little. All learning for me was in the labs and from the TAs. Most of the course was self taught through google. It is a tough course but if you use the TAs and SI sessions you can pass it. He does seem to care about the class but teaching style is inefficient.

His knowledge level is far above this class so its hard for him to teach people new to this subject. I enjoyed this class because this was my major and was easy, he provides insight into more complex concepts for those that have already done java

Taking the class from one of his doc students (carroll) Pure garbage. Lectures are useless. Frequently blindsided by tricky assignments and the tests are beastly. Do not even consider this class unless you have prior java coding experience. For extra fun,the entire last 2 weeks of the HW is about javascript, which they dont even cover.

CSCE145 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

I feel like he really cares about the class, but his teaching method is extremely inefficient. You will heavily rely on the TAs for the labs. Also, his tests seem almost impossible to complete within the time constraint allotted. He's a cool guy, but that's all I really have to say about him that is positive.

99% of this class is getting the very specific software to work on your computer. Every homework uses a different set of tools, and he bases the class on HIS machine, which is 32-bit Vista. Architecture incompatibilities abound.

He's a real nice guy, but i didn't get much from the class. I was one of the few people that went to all the lectures and it still didn't give me advantage in the class. It's not completely his fault, because they should make you have some previous experience before taking this class. This class isn't too bad if you understand the material.
