PY101 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: A

He was an overall chill prof. and his class is not hard to pass. As long as you come to class, pay attention, take notes, & read the textbook you should pass with no issues. His quizzes and tests are online and he does not assign homework/classwork. He does go a little fast sometimes during lecture but all his notes are online with study Qs

PY 102 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Such a chill guy. No attendance, online quizzes and tests, very understanding and lenient. Took Psych for distribution so I wasn't paying much in class, yet easily passed with an A. No regrets

PY102 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Great professor! If you actually pay attention in class you'll learn a lot and he makes the class interesting and fun. I took this course in the winter, very fast pace and don't recommend it to anyone who has a bad study habit. Take his class in the fall or spring. He offers a lot of extra credit for those who need it.

PY102 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Really nice guy. Class can be challenging, but that's why the textbook is there to clarify the concepts he teaches. A very agreeable person and is enthusiastic about his lectures. Took it in the winter so it was very fast paced, quizzes everyday and a paper, but LOTS of extra credit available its almost hard to not pass. Great professor overall.

PSY 203 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Best teacher ever. Really understanding, knowledgeable, tests are easy. He really wants you to succeed. He is a really good professor, someone that you would like to have. I have learned a lot from him. He is kind of a quiet person but really funny. Take him if you want to enjoy Psychology.

PY 102 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

The class is so boring. He uses powerpoint slides which he never gives you enough time to copy. He is monotonous. Don't take his class if you really want to enjoy PY.

Professor Herst is awesome and hilarious! His class was easy as long as you use the online sample tests from the book you will pass his tests. He is super nice and helpful and yes I think he's attractive. Plus he told us he's not against marijuana legalization which is awesome!

PY 102 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

I don't understand some of these comments from others. Yes, Prof. Herst uses PowerPoint, and does not give you a copy... but that's an unfair complaint against him since the notes are available via MyMC course page, which are word-for-word, just in Word format. If you need additional help you go to his office hours. He's a prof, not a babysitter.

PY 102 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

I heard PY 102 should be one of the most interesting subjects. However, Prof Herst makes it one of the most boring classes. Anyone can tell that he is a knowledgeable prof; but if he doesn't interact wt the students in class, the class becomes so so so boring! Take him if you don't have any other options. The best prof in PY dep is Pr John Wright!

No he doesn't give copies of the power point but some professors don't even have a power point! Herst knows his stuff and is good at explaining it. Not all of the material is super interesting but it's an Intro Psych course which means *gasp* yes, you will cover some bio. Taking notes is a must! This is college after all. Great professor.

PY-102 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

Not a good professor at all.He is not helpful. All he does is pull out a power point and read it word from word. For your benefit please do not take him.

Prof. Herst is knowledgeable and helpful. If you come to class, take notes, and read the assigned material you will do well. His exams are very fair. I would recommend.

Make sure you take good notes from his lecture, which most of the exam questions come from. You can NOT only depend on the text book. Also, try not to fall asleep during the lecture as the class might be boring.

Fantastic teacher. I never thought I would enjoy listening to a lecture so much. He has a great style of presenting information. It helps to have read the chapter before class (as you should in any class), but is well worth it to really enjoy the lecture. I plan on taking more if his classes!

Sometimes he talks kinda fast but don't be afraid to ask him to slow down. He really seems to enjoy when students engage themselves and has no problem answering questions if something isn't clear. Read ahead of time so you can ask questions during lecture if you don't understand something and take good notes and you'll be fine.

PY102 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

He is probably the worst prof. I have ever had at the MC. When class starts, he tells everyone upfront that he would never post the powerpoints whatsoever. So, if you don't take notes from the powerpoints, even if you cram the whole text book, you will fail the class. The lecture he gives in class is SO boring. Not a recommended prof. at all.

PY203 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

In PY 203 Herst makes absolutely no attempt to engage students nor does he show any interest in the subject matter whatsoever. He never deviates from his pwrpnt which is copied word for word from the textbook. The class is dull and Herst frequently glosses over topics by using the excuse that students should be familiar with it from Psych 100.

He knew and is very passionate about what he teaches. He goes through PPTs really fast, so I recommend bringing a laptop to class to type down the notes. If he talks for awhile, of course it gets boring, but he does allow class participation which sets off a lot of interesting debates. Just pay attention and take notes and you'll be fine.

I loved that he would let the students ask questions all the time. The class was fun and I learned a lot of cool things.
