Best professors at Oakland. Most of reading are short stories. As long as you read that is assigned and participate in class you will do great. Yes, he is a little full of himself but overall very nice man.

I'm sorry but I cannot stand him. He has a huge ego and loves listening to himself talk. He asks the class questions about the reading and when someone says the right answer before he wants you to he'll shrug it off or make you look wrong. I absolutely would not take this teacher, this is a general ed class and he treats it like its not.

I didn't plan on taking this class at all. It was the only one open for that time and for that required General Ed. Apap made the whole class. With any other teacher I would have been bored to tears. The lectures were fun and entertaining. There is a lot of reading and he is a fair but hard grader. But I loved him and how he taught

Apap is a very intelligent English Professor. However, the workload is intense and he is a very hard grader! The midterm and the final were the death of me,but thanks to practice from the extra credit assignments (which I recommend you do!!), I ended up with a 4.0. One of the hardest 4.0's I've ever had to work for!!

Participation was 25% of the grade, the Midterm and Final was 70% of the grade and were take home essay prompts that were rather vague and difficult to answer. He gave out quizzes worth 5% of the grade at the beginning of class periods which if you're late he did not let you take. I did not enjoy class due to his rantings against males.

Apap was a great professor. He is helpful, and passionate about what he does. As long as you take good notes every class you'll do fine in this class. He gives out a lot of extra credit assignments as well.

THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER! He cares, he learns your names, he wants you to pass, he's the professor you wish you had for every class. I will take more of his courses because he's that awesome. He's kind of a hard grader but it's not too bad. TAKE HIS CLASSES!

SUCH a great professor! The reading is a bit much, however it is a literature class so it's to be expected. Only one novel, then just a lot of short stories and a play. Very passionate and humorous- take lots of notes and use info from them on the take home midterm/final! Lots of extra credit. Definitely recommend!

He is very animated about the subject. He gives out so much extra credit and by doing it you are practicing for the exams. He gives out quizzes on the reading that are easy so long as you keep up. It's not very hard and he's willing to help anyone who is struggling.

This professor is an extremely hard grader. Attendance is mandatory and their is a lot of required reading from different novels. I felt as thought no matter how hard I worked on my assignments he never gave out fair grades. Would not recommend him, extremely difficult.

I really enjoyed Apap! He was very friendly and helpful. He is a tough grader but just get close with him and he will help you a lot. I realized people who never visited his office hours were people who didn't do as well as people who did visit. I would recommend and take him again!

He's well spoken, intelligent, and knows the material, but will really screw you over on grading. He teaches at a 200 level, and grades at a doctorate level. Interesting, far-fetched lectures, but wouldn't recommend the class. Doesn't make exceptions/let you catch up, even if you're sick. Not seeing how people enjoy this at all. Best of luck!

Proper Apap is very passionate about his subject. In fact, he gets you excited about works you would otherwise think boring. He is very accomadating if you ever you need help. Make sure you take good notes because he is very particular about what he looks for in a paper.

Fabulous teacher! He is very passionate about the material but makes class interesting, even if you aren't interested in it. He does keep you until the very end of class every night. He is easy to talk to and its not frightening speaking up in class because he knows how to make you feel like your answer it always right. I def. recommend him!

His classes are usually filled with English majors, but I took it as a general education. Some good books are read throughout the course, but his lectures are never ending. He's very passionate about the topic, and always has a lot to say. The class isn't too hard. Attendance is mandatory. He wants people to participate. Kind of annoying at times.

I'm not an English major, but I don't find the workload to be too much at all. he is very accommodating and approachable. Apap challenges you, and yes, you have to come to class and do the assignments and reading. However, his lectures are incredibly interesting, and you can tell he truly loves what he is teaching. Favorite professor so far.
