He knows his stuff! I highly recommend taking a class with him. He may appear to be critical at times, but he is merely critiquing your work and trying to help you improve. The course is NOT difficult as long as you do the lectures! There really isn't a huge amount of work. Best advice is to take the class and HAVE FUN!

Great guy, definitely take his class. Has no problem spending alot of time helping students although he is a busy man. Is very positive and wants students to get the most out of the class as they can. Dont be afraid to really expand your photographic horizons in this class, it is encouraged.

This Class and this teacher are awesome. Yes, Tom demands a lot and yes he is critical. This is a Fine Arts class, so it is demanding time consuming and critical. But he does a very good job at teaching you. I had absolutely no knowledge of photography prior to this class and turned out to enjoy it a lot thanks to him.

I've taken every class possible with Tom. I'm embarrassed for those who complain about him asking you to work hard. Tom motivates and teaches to help EVERYONE understand photography. He pushes you to become a better photographer. Tom's classes teach you about photography but also about yourself. Best Canisius professor by far. Highly Recommended!

Great Professor. Fair Warning: You must have lots of time for this class. The people who didn't do well, didn't spend enough time taking pictures or in the dark room. He really forced me to push myself and grow as a photographer.

Awful teacher. Too critical and expects way too much out of people who have never taken a photography class in their lives. I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone. It will make you feel down on yourself when you leave class.

Horrible class. Too critical of everyone's work. If you've never done anything with photography before, I wouldn't take his class b/c if you don't progress at the speed he expects, you get ripped apart. But if you're pretty or someone who doesn't need an intro class, he'll love you. It's a joke of a class. Complete waste of time, money, and credits

too critical - is not willing to help when needed, except if you are one of the prettier girls in class. By the end of the semester, if I had to look at one more of his photographs it would have been the end of the road for me.

Tom knows his stuff, take advantage of it. He's very critical of work. Don't take the class unless you can make the effort of spending at least 6 hours a week for a good photo. Don't bother if you like to procrastinate.

Very cool teacher. A lot of work for class but that is photography. Can be pretty critical but he really is very understanding. Just do your best!

Amazing photographer, loves showing his Buffalo Bills slides. However, a little too critical of our assignments, remember it is our first time taking pictures, we don't have years of experience like you
