"Big time extra credit" "Participation matters" "There for you"

My fascination in Quantum Mechanics and the very fabric of Space-Time bloomed thanks to this man. When you get to his Relativity Lectures, stay focused. I swear he morphed into Einstein when reciting the Relativity Proofs! Stay curiousAsk questions. Feel he didn't satisfactorily answered your question(s)? Visit at office hours. He's a good man!

He is simply horrible at teaching this material. I have a 3.8 GPA and I believe I am going to struggle to get a B in this class. He teaches the opposite of Drum and you must read the book till you understand it. I read the book during class because his lectures only add confusion to the content of the book. Tests are not conceptual at all.

Don't listen to all the reviews. This class isn't as bad as everyone says it is. You can definitely get a B in this class by scoring around 10/20-ish on all your tests. Do all of the ec because he gives like 6% ec and lab write ups are easy. The first test is the hardest then it gets easier (in my opinion). Practice tests are the best way to study

PHYS 110 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

This professor is not one that you should take unless you absolutely have to. Class averages tend to be around 55-60% and he does poorly at getting content across well, or sometimes even correctly. He was not very friendly when I went to his office hours. It seemed like he didn't like being bothered at all, outside or inside of class.

This guy is useless take another professor if at all possible. I often question if it's even worth going to class at all because all he seems to do is read from the text book, in probably the most monotone voice I've ever heard. I'm writing this while sitting in his class if that gives you an idea... However, if you read the book you should do fine

He's a great guy. Tests are pretty tough, but 80% is an A, so it evens it out. Don't just study the old tests he puts up because a lot of the questions will be stuff you haven't seen. If you have the time and want an A you have to read the book until you understand it. You get to make a formula sheet for each test, which helps. I liked this class.

Took him last semester for lab. He lags on grading the assignments, and he also has high standards as to how the lab should be done. I would advise taking a different lab professor that is less strict.

Do not take for him for lab. He has very exact standards for how you should do them. Very ambiguous grading as well. His labs were stressful

I was scared of physics before taking this class, and I thought I was not going to get an A because this subject is not my strong point. However, in this class I got an A. He grades extremely liberally. I'm not sure about how his other physics classes are, but this one is an easy A if you put some effort in. Highly recommend.

I took this guy for phys 280 and 285. 285 is much easier than 280. labs are easy. tests are kind of tough, but possible to do.

The class is super boring; it's just a bunch of monotone lectures. Faridi is nice, smart, and a VERY generous grader, but the lectures are useless. Basically, listen for hints that he gives about which questions will be on the test, and then self-study. Get old labs from his former students. They will cut your workload by maybe 30-40% in his class.

He is why tenure is a bad idea. If you can, avoid this teacher, there is a good physics teacher at G.W.C. and I.V.C.

This is probably the hardest class at OCC. You'll be doing lots of integration to find the effect of magnetic and electric fields in varying situations. The material is not easy and requires careful study and practice. Getting an A in this class is not an easy task, so be prepared to work. It doesn't help that he grades somewhat arbitrarily either.

This class is much easier than 280, but still one of the most challenging classes at OCC. Take good notes, get on his good side (read: don't say stupid stuff during class while trying to be funny), do the homework problems and study. An A is not an easy grade to get in this class, but it's very achievable.

I had him for both 280 and 285. He is an easy grader on labs, which is good because the lecture material can be pretty tough. His exams are similar to the old ones posted online. You won't get much from his lecture, so your best bet is to read the text slowly and deliberately, and practice a variety of problems on your own. Good luck!

He is one of the worst prof I have ever had. He literally stands in front of the class with the text book and lectures from it. No one pays any attention. He is super rude and condescending to the students. If you have to take him most of the exam problems are taken from the practice exams posted online

Prof Faridi may either go off on a tangent or continually repeat himself during lectures so one stands the risk of being lost if he hasn't done the prelecture reading. Pay close attention to the derivations on the board in order to spot the tricks that are used. Read the book THOROUGHLY and do the problems (try to avoid the sln manual!). Fair exams

He's the only professor that teaches 280/285 and he's not very good at it. He lectures straight from the book and it's painfully boring. His tests can be very difficult and his grading is extremely arbitrary. Two people will write the same answers--one will get 5/5 and the other 2.5/5. Study the text heavily and you should do well.
