PYS2AG Taken for Credit:Yes Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: Rather not say
"Skip class? You won't pass."

Professor Rickard is nice and helpful but his lectures are confusing so it needs to be learned in advance to cope up in class.

PHYS 2BG Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: B

He is a great prof. He is very fair and will help you along to the right answer. It's true he doesn't hand out answers, but where's the fun in that? He is generous with points and "assumes" you know the answer if you show your work or show him you are trying. Always willing to help with a question. Better than Tatoian!

Physics 2B Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

I think Dr. Rickard is under appreciated and if you need to take physics, just know it's not easy and prepare to WORK HARD. 3 steps to pass his class: Show up to class ON TIME, do the homework, and pass. If you can't do that, don't take physics. He is a nice and will help you in his office hours if you need extra help. He's a university level prof.

Physics 2A Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

I had Dr. Rickard for 2A during Summer 13. It was a 6 week course and was not easy, but I am not great at math and failed physics at another college, but I managed to pass with a C with Dr. Rickard. I am taking his 2B course now and it is difficult but I am doing a lot better now. Dr Rickard is a great prof and the previous ratings seem unfair.

Phsy 2BG Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

He has a PhD in physics so it's hard to him to relate to the everyday student. Concepts that he finds easy are extremely difficult to students and he doesn't know how to dumb it down. He is also the ONLY 2BG professor so if you have to take him hang on for a rough semester. He is quite generous with partial credit. So far I see a lot of C's and D's

Rickard is the type of guy who uses a word in its own definition. The way he answers questions makes it feel like you are expected to know about what you are learning before you even learn it. His labs teach you next to nothing and make up the majority of the class. He under-prepares you for the test and are forced to rely on only HW to study.

Arrogant. Condescending. Heckles students who ask questions he deems unworthy in front of everyone-his favorite response is "Didn't you take 2AG?" Shames you if you answer a question wrong. He doesn't encourage learning. Unless you're already ahead of the curve, you're not worth his time. Only teacher who's ever made me feel like I couldn't learn.

online homework, 4 exams, weekly quizzes, daily labs, overall I'd say he's a generous professor. Studying about an hour a day will suffice but homework was a pain a few times.

Definitely a difficult instructor but he is generous with points on exams. Open note quizzes. Can have flash card on exams and whole page on final. It was my second time taking the class so it seemed easy but he has challenging lectures that can be very intimidating if you haven't studied.

Professor Ricard, is possibly the worst professor I have ever taken. He is not clear on anything he lectures for about 2 min. and makes you do labs on your own so you can learn the material. I would love to have a job where the only thing I have to do is show up and not do a single thing. I don't know how he is still teaching. STAY AWAY!!!

Professor Rickard was a pretty cool guy.Despite the great professor, this is still a VERY difficult coarse. Most of the complaints on here are probably by people who just could not handle the subject and decided to take their anger out on the prof. My only complaint about Rickard is that he seems to get impatient very easily.

I had been totally discouraged while reading horrible complains here. He was the only available class to me, so I took his class. But I am getting more than 100% now. He grades very generously, quizes are open notes, and gives a lot of hints whenever i ask him homework questions. I am gonna take his 4a class for this fall.

I was an inspiring engineering student student and he shut my path to success. So much for mt sacs logo of faculties that help u succeed. He is anything but that. He's horrid teacher who can't even grade his hw and furthermore makes you buy it

Very Condescending! Mumbles more to himself than actually teaches.skips a lot of steps while teaching. His labs are very unclear as to what the procedures are. Homework is online using mastering physics, points are deducted until the correct answer is entered.

not as bad as everyone says. he's a pretty nice guy. his exams are the most difficult part of this course, but if you're good at physics, or at least science classes, you will do fine in his class. Take this class if you want a challenge. also, he lets students write some of the questions on the exam, which can make things easier.

This is the professor you want if you want to be challenged. Labs are easy, but they can be very lengthy when writing them. Tests are usually no more than 8-10 questions, and they're all hard. DO ALL THE CHALLENGE IF YOU WANT TO PASS. If you're in his engineering physics, having MATH 280 for this class helps a lot. Had for 2A as well, good but hard

Condescending attitude towards students, does not answer questions, does not teach, expectations are far above the prerequisites, not to mention he makes the most annoying cricket sounds, literally cricket sounds, all class every class. BEWARE THIS PROFESSOR!

He doesn't really explain much, so you will have to learn almost everything on your own. Having said that, I admit that I learned A LOT from the class and am now a better student overall because of how rigorous it was. I hated the class while taking it, but would take him all over again if given the chance.
