he's very merciful. physics is very hard, and he seems to understand this. he helps out his students a lot if you approach him. don't be intimidated by him.

Professor Ricard, is possibly the worst professor I have ever taken. He is not clear on anything he lectures for about 2 min. and makes you do labs on your own so you can learn the material. I would love to have a job where the only thing I have to do is show up and not do a single thing. I don't know how he is still teaching. STAY AWAY!!!

Professor Rickard was a pretty cool guy.Despite the great professor, this is still a VERY difficult coarse.Most of the complaints on here are probably by people who just could not handle the subject and decided to take their anger out on the prof. My only complaint about Rickard is that he seems to get impatient very easily.

I had been totally discouraged while reading horrible complains here. He was the only available class to me, so I took his class. But I am getting more than 100% now. He grades very generously, quizes are open notes, and gives a lot of hints whenever i ask him homework questions. I am gonna take his 4a class for this fall.

I was an inspiring engineering student student and he shut my path to success. So much for mt sacs logo of faculties that help u succeed. He is anything but that. He's horrid teacher who can't even grade his hw and furthermore makes you buy it

Very Condescending! Mumbles more to himself than actually teaches.skips a lot of steps while teaching. His labs are very unclear as to what the procedures are. Homework is online using mastering physics, points are deducted until the correct answer is entered.

not as bad as everyone says. he's a pretty nice guy. his exams are the most difficult part of this course, but if you're good at physics, or at least science classes, you will do fine in his class. Take this class if you want a challenge. also, he lets students write some of the questions on the exam, which can make things easier.

This is the professor you want if you want to be challenged. Labs are easy, but they can be very lengthy when writing them. Tests are usually no more than 8-10 questions, and they're all hard. DO ALL THE CHALLENGE IF YOU WANT TO PASS. If you're in his engineering physics, having MATH 280 for this class helps a lot. Had for 2A as well, good but hard

Condescending attitude towards students, does not answer questions, does not teach, expectations are far above the prerequisites, not to mention he makes the most annoying cricket sounds, literally cricket sounds, all class every class. BEWARE THIS PROFESSOR!

He doesn't really explain much, so you will have to learn almost everything on your own. Having said that, I admit that I learned A LOT from the class and am now a better student overall because of how rigorous it was. I hated the class while taking it, but would take him all over again if given the chance.

look sometimes the lectures are dry, sometimes the labs aren't very interesting, but dr. rickard is an awesome professor. he doesn't just lecture, he gets the class involved in proving equations and problem solving. he cares about you passing his class and is helpful. it is a hard class but its physics, duh. don't forget to keep a homework notebook

he's hard and i think only one student got an A, but I love physics now due to this course. his labs are very insightful and even fun at times. sometimes he's all over the place during his lectures so i wish he'd be a little more organized. very helpful during office hours. a recommend to students who enjoy physics and don't mind working extra hard

save your time & money don't take this guy take someone else he doesn't lecture and doesn't tell you how to do anything, he always says "i want to see more of you and less of me" when he does an example on the board he doesn't show the steps on how he found the answer and even if just one person gets it he moves on and the rest are left behind

Hes a bad teacher. He does not like to lecture at all and complains his voice wil start to hurt in 5mins. Makes you do pointless labs that you are clueless about, and he makes you buy homework online which ask the same questions in the textbook. You just pay him fees just so he can count you in his attendance. You do HW, study, notes, lab at home

He's great with explaining physics concepts and he definitely knows the material but he lacks in translating the concepts into mathematics for the students. Lots of labs for easy points. He does not give questions that are too tough.
