Easy class! Doesn't take attendance and everything is posted online including study guides.

I skipped almost all the classes and ended up with an A+. All grades come from breakout session with a TA. I had no interest in this class. You'll have projects, tests. He gives you the test questions and the questions on the final too

If you have to take this class as a core requirement, you should definitely take it with him. He posts his notes online, communicates using twitter, and gives you the exam questions before the test. Doesn't get simpler than him. Take him! He's funny, and a really chill teacher

He's a great lecturer, but the breakout sections and heavy weight on participation is not fun. Unless you're big on discussion or a film major/minor, I would recommend taking a different elective. Most of the movies are boring and half of them are in a different language. You have to use twitter in his class to keep up, which sucked cus I hate it.

He is NOT funny but he tries really hard to be. He often gets out of topic & tries to appeal to his audience that has fallen asleep. The good thing is that the test include almost everything he goes over and that going to his lecture is not necessary. He is NOT funny or cool.

He's SUUUUPER talkative, but really kind. He gives you the answers for the test in advance, so you can study, but tests are only like 10% each.2 projects and 2 exams and participation which was worth like 35%. The class subject is rather boring, but he somewhat makes it fun. The movies you watch in class are silent until like the midpoint....

Such an easy class. Sure he rambles but it's usually about films, so if you have any interest in film at all (And I don't mean you thought Avengers was cool, like, you actually care about films), then it's interesting at the very least. And he has study guides so you have no excuse to do badly. Easy A. Counts for graduation. Done deal.

Dr.Roberts is that guy. He will actually make you look at film in a different perspective. People will complain about him rambling but if you pay attention he is educating you. He is a cool dude. The tests are too easy and its hard to fail. Lectures are not mandatory and neither is the book. Go learn something with him def #1 professor

Fun teacher. He gets off topic a lot, but it's funny and won't take away from what you learn. He's enthusiastic and funny. Don't buy the textbook. I didn't buy it and I made an A.

One thing, don't buy the textbook. Otherwise, this class is really simple. I remember I had classmates that complained about the difficulty of the tests, but I feel like if you can read above an eighth grade, you should be fine, whether you went to the lectures or not. And lectures are interesting so you may as well go.

He began our first class by saying he originally majored in Sociology because it was "super easy." His lectures were off topic and although he seemed like a cool guy, he was not clear or helpful in any way. I didn't pay to listen to someone ramble about nothing for an hour. I do NOT recommend him for any class. He was not meant to be a professor.

I liked him as a teacher. The only problem was he went off topic alot and plus the notes he gave were really not helpful. The test were pretty easy because the study guide gave you exactly what was goig to be on the test. I recieved in A+ in this class and did not go at all. I studied when a test came took it and that was it.

He continuously goes off topic. He seems to know a lot about the subject, but doesn't articulate it in a way that a novice can understand. Also, READ, READ, READ! His notes are insubstantial and no help!

Honestly, I loved this class. Dr. Roberts was so awesome. Be sure to take notes, as the notes on his website don't provide enough information to do well on the tests. The tests are difficult, and studying is absolutely mandatory. But he keeps the material interesting and fun. I enjoyed learning about film.

Tests were way harder than expected. Doesn't use ULearn, which is bothersome. Great, interesting teacher that is passioniate about film- just wished his tests were more straightforward!

I personally loved him as a professor, he was funny and engaging and seemed very passionate about the material. Looking back, I probably should have taken more notes during class though, the ones he puts online won't get you an A on tests. 2 exams, 2 papers, 1 final. Not difficult, you just have to go to class or have a good, note-taking friend.

He is an excellent professor with a lot of passion for his subject. His tests are not hard if you go to class and pay attention, which isn't hard to do because he is engaging and makes you actually want to go to his class.
