Physics I Taken for Credit:Yes Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: Not sure yet
"Clear grading criteria" "Would take again"

Andrew is a very kind professor. I never understood physics until I took it with him and genuinely enjoyed it! He has a lot of patience and is very clear.

AST 1040 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: D

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. So many random assignments that are entirely unorganized. Lectures are not clear. The test material is confusing and doesn't seem relevant to the text. I'm a 4.0 student and this class is just impossible. Granted, science is my worst subject, but this class is definitely not what I expected. AVOID.

PHY2020 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

Class covered tough material but Holt made it more manageable. I would highly advise regular attendance because his lectures really explore the concept much more in-depth than the book. Understanding in terms of needing help on homework and due dates. Great teacher overall!

First time for Prof. Holt teaching Astronomy, so things were a little confusing sometimes, but he made up for it be being lenient with due dates. 4 tests throughout, interactive assignments, and observations on sun, moon, stars. Lets you use 1 whole sheet of paper front and back for test and extra credit. Understanding and very kind.

All around good guy. He looks for understanding of the material rather than a bunch of calculations. He is harder than he was in previous years due to several reasons. The class average was a C+, but certainly easier than others.

PHY2411 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Overall this was a rather easy class, some of the online homework was challenging but still workable. Unfortunately, Mr. Holt would not make some homework available until just a couple of days before the test that is supposed to cover it. Then after some students worked really hard to get the homework finished in time, he would just extend it.

Andrew was pretty chill. In the beginning, he was so easy to understand, but as the semester went on, I got lost. I still got a 97% thanks to his extra credit. Definitely recommend if you're not a physics major. You hardly even need physics on the tests, it's mostly algebra and applying concepts. He does do attendance checks for points!

he's is a prety awsome guy, very VERY VERY ! nice person, and very easy to ace an A in his class.... however, being a physics major.. YOU DONT want to be in his class! his way of dumbing things down is just too frustrating o a physicist! he is nice but I think he is WAY tooooo nice! he makes HWs as easy as possible, he extends almost EVERYTHING!

Andrew was the most supportive, helpful, and kind instructor I have ever had. He really cares about his students and tries to help each student get the highest grade possible.

If you struggle with physics, take him!! He is the most awesome teacher, very understanding, very smart. Not a hard-a$$. Great guy, lots of opportunities to do good in his class. Probably my favorite teacher at Metro!

Easiest teacher ever. Highly recommended if you struggle in science. If you're good at science, however, you'll be frustrated with the pace of the lectures (he teaches at the level of the dumbest students, so it's a waste of time if you "get it"). He's also very slow to get tests graded. Still, you could do far worse in this physics department.
