Chem342 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

Pretty easy class overall with really hard homework. Notes were extremely helpful, if you're good at math. Avg grade was real low. Honestly, had no interest before this... now am seriously considering not attending med school because the MD/PhD programs don't allow a physical chemistry PhD.....

Chem342 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Tests are pretty rough in this course, averages usually hover about 50 or so. The problems sets are miserable and generally NOT from the textbook, so good luck finding example problems. This professor knows his stuff thoroughly and will expect the same from you. Watch out!

PCHEM342 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Incredibly difficult. If you try, you will still fail miserably on his tests which is unforgettably demeaning. He will break you. His tests aren't only difficult, but his problem sets will suck out what little love remains in your heart. However, at the end of the semester, I learned stuff about complex stuff and I like him a lot. Weird.

PChem341 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

His PI in grad school wrote the text on Math for Quantum Chemistry, so he will require some math in his courses... to put it lightly. Sarcastic, funny, and difficult. Unfortunately, at CofC, you either find yourself trying to tread water in Pchem or copy/pasting solutions ie graduates who aced less challenging Pchem courses here could

DO NOT TAKE HIM. He cares more about his grade distribution being even than his students actually learning the material. His test averages are around a 50, curves final grades so most people get Bs, but it's not worth the stress and effort you will put in. Not an effective teacher... take someone else.
