Jake is an awesome English teacher! The discussions were interesting if you get involved. 5 papers total based on 5 books and an easy in class essay for the final. he lets u choose your topic as long as you can somehow connect to the readings we did for the class! very personable and friendly. As long as u write the papers you'll do great!

Aharonian was a fabulous teacher. He was passionate about the materials and class was always fun. He does expect you to read the texts but he chooses books that are "easy readers". If you show up and participate it is an easy class to pass. Take him, he's outstanding, and not bad on the eyes.

ENG 1A Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: A

Jacob Aharonian was passionate and made class interesting and exciting. His instructions on everything were crystal clear and never hesitated to correct any confusion. He was also incredibly giving in helping improve your work; if you took the time, he would take his time and preread and critique your papers. I found his class. A+ Would take again.

Jake is a great professor with a real passion for literature. He was the most personable professor I've ever had, and it really makes you enjoy the class a lot more. Lots of reading and class discussions, but the atmosphere of the class is very casual. He really turned me on to some great pieces of literature. Definitely recommend.

This class was the only academic class I have ever looked forward to attending. The syllabus and schedule is written to the T and is very organized. Jake is a wonderful, hilarious person who is impossible to dislike. Very relatable, wonderful nerd, and genuinely nice guy. Please take his class - I beg you. You will NOT regret it.

Eng 1A Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: A

English 1A was a challenging course. Aharonian is a cool guy and is more like a friend. The course focused a lot on aspects of religion (i.e. morals). We discussed our religious beliefs too. I know religion is related to literature, but his teachings were borderline offensive. English 1A was more of a religious studies class than a English class.

What a legend. Class is very relaxed, where we usually just summarize the week's reading, and answer questions on paper and open-ended class discussions. Sometimes we watch movies or TV shows, e.g. Sherlock or Young Frankenstein. Essays were graded very easily (Average B+) His relevant stories always somehow centralize about his children.

ENGL5 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Jake's cool, but I found the subject material lacking for what a critical thinking course should be teaching. Nonetheless, it was an easy class.
