BEST lecturer I have ever had. I wish every professor taught like him. He draws pictures to help you envision the material, and explains everything so well! I would take more classes from him just for fun! I studied everyday though, just go through your notes for 15 min a day and you'll be good! I got an A+.

Dr. Bautista is a fantastic lecturer. He is extremely clear in both his explanations and what he expects you to know. You should know his slides forwards and backwards and read the book if you don't understand. His word choice is sometimes sloppy, but he is always happy to clear it up if need be.

Good summer course. A lot of information but its relatively easy to digest in small chunks especially in the summer. Good lectures but hard tests got A's on all :) no txt requirements but if u don't understand something then its good to get the recommended.

One of the best lecturers at UCD. His expectations are clear. Keep up with the information and study daily. Don't need to read the book if you pay attention in lecture. His lectures are fun and he moves around and gives good examples of certain things (sometimes funny). Approachable, but I wouldn't ask a dumb question.

While not an easy professor, he is very fair. If you study the material he presents in lecture and read the textbook daily, you should do well. That said, he is often sloppy with his word choice which can lead to some confusion. All in all, a good professor.

Great professor. I have one critique: he needs to learn how to pronounce correctly the things he is teaching. For example, "alveolus" is FOUR syllables, not three. It's frustrating to hear at 8am. That's like saying ath-ah-lete instead of athlete.

pretty much your success in this class is your ta,i had a really hard ta who gave brutal quizzes and had brutal high standards for lab reports. Bautista writes the final, hardest thing i ever took,i studied soo hard and failed it. He is very sympathetic in office hours and through our complaints he curved our lab section. NPB101L is pretty tough tho

Bautista is a good lecturer. His test questions are pretty challenging but if you really study the material you will do well. Don't assume he won't put anything on there, because the randomest things will go. Study everything on the slides in detail.

I like the way he writes out his notes as he is lecturing, the diagrams he draw are really helpful. A very straightforward class, posts all lecture notes and records his lectures as podcasts so I pretty much gave up going to class. Exams are solely based on his lectures so as long as you know what he says in class, you're pretty much set for an A.

Pretty much all the interaction is with the TAs, I never saw the dude the whole quarter. He only writes the lab final. So this class really depends on how your TA is. Mine was god awful, so none of us knew what the expectations were nor were very prepared for the final. I wish Bautista would spend more time with the students.

Very engaging lecturer. He writes his own powerpoint slides. Really clear about concepts you should focus on and draws out diagrams and writes additional comments to clarify his slides. Easy on the eyes too, in my opinion.

Dr. E is the absolute best. The class biology of Addiction) was very interesting and very easy. 3 midterms and a final which was like the same format as the midterm( so basically 4 midterms). Lectures are very clear and podcasts are available online. Totally recommend him!

Best professor at UCD, crystal clear and fun lectures. Very clear on what he expects and he has the best way of lecturing that will help you learn. Funny and active. Test questions are very hard and require critical thinking but you will do well if you study a bit every day. BEST CLASS I HAVE HAD SO FAR. Listen to podcast after lecture to solidify.

The BEST lecturer I've had at Davis so far. He makes complex material interesting and explains it very clearly. While you should go to class, he podcasts and posts his notes online so attending is not necessary (I never went to class). Tests are straightforward but the material is extensive so don't procrastinate on studying. Easy A

The absolute best professor at UC Davis, his exams are super straight forward and he is clear in what he expects of you...the people complaining are probably just angry b/c they simply aren't good at physiology...definitely the easiest physio class I have taken!

This class was very straightforward. The key to getting an A in this class is just studying your notes for 10 minutes like 4 times a week. It's too overwhelming to study it all before the test. The material is easy and so interesting! He's a great lecturer because he's not monotone and draws pictures to help you understand physiology,

I liked his lectures but he is highly overrated as a teacher. He writes notes on a projector but says lots of important things that he doesn't write down. Podcasts are a must and he often lost the recordings or blamed the technology. He often says the wrong thing, which messes us up for exams. I strongly feel I should have done better than I did.

I think his average score on RMP is so high due to his really easy NPB 10 class. Dr Bautista was a poor lecturer, and poor at responding to emails. His availability was downright awful. If hed lecture like he talks in OH, hed be fine. I sent 10 emails, and maybe recvd 1 back. His tests arent fair; he convolutes questions as much as possible. Avoid!

I took this course spring 13' along w/ Debello, Weidner, & Harris. Study hard, really hard. Don't slack off & make sure to review your notes after class to solidify the info. The class had a tutor available & I was surprised hardly anyone sought her help, considering the avg was around a 58-60%. He curves by 1 std dev abv is a solid B, so 1.5 is A-

He is a clear professor, but sometimes he's a bit sloppy with the way he organizes his material. The exams were hard to get an A on. No curve means if you miss more than 4 question out of 40 you've got a B. The exams range from doable to quite difficult. I'd say take him, but beware of confusing, convoluted test questions.
