I found Mr. Medina to be quite helpful, and the work that had to be done for the class was not hard at all. YES, you must read the text book in order to pass the exams. I found the course overall to be quite interesting, made me view society a lot different.

I just finished this online class and received an A, it was really easy. Just don't fall behind and keep up with the readings, also be sure to study well for tests because they are timed. Also do the extra credit LA tour it is really interesting and brings you up 5%. Overall great teacher.

Finished His online class yesterday.Got an A. YES you must read the book but if you are paying attention then the test will be easy. Quiz at the end of every chapter, questions will reappear later and you get instant feed back on answers. observation paper is required and discusions. work st your pace a plus!!!

The Online tests are a joke. If you work a lot and don't have time to literally read the whole textbook, then your out of luck, and I wouldn;t go with Medina. His tests are all from the book and really require a lot of studying and memorizing. I love Soc. and I have to re take his class

Don't take his class, you basically teach yourself. Everything is online and he doesn't teach from the book, even though all the tests are from the book. Doesn't give enough time for tests. It's just a life class.

I took his online class and it was great almost like a regular class.For people saying uhave to read the book on your own that is with any class so everyone should expect that. The lectures is help you understand the material you read on your own.

1)You have to read the textbook on your own. 2)His lectures are interesting, but not what i wanted to learn in this class. 3)Took 6 weeks before he even began to give a lecture. 4)Basically an online class, if you dont like them, i wouldnt suggest him. Overall, i wasn't impressed with Medina and i will probably have to retake this class.

This professor is unrealistic his exams are 120 questions in 90 minutes. He does not give study guides or return any papers you have no way to improve because you never see what he graded you on

Professor Medina admits to changing his class up all the time so I don't know how helpful this will be. Test homework and quizes all online. Tour of LA extra credit worth 5%. Will open your mind. Read the book lectures more on concepts but not what was actually read. Had him summer got a B.

Can change syllabus at ant time. Be prepare to teach yourself in regards to the book. Lectures are long but if you don't answer exactly the way he wants, he will put you down. Class is interesting; however, he can be contradicting.

This class was pretty fun. Lectures were extremely interesting and he has two separate tests: One for lecture and the other is from the book, so be sure to read! Overall, awesome class AND teacher :)

this was a very interesting class, we went on a tour of L.A. it took about 6 hours but was really very cool! i found out alot about the little things in society nobody talks about and after every class always had something to talk to my friends about! take the class!!!

Great Profesor!THis class really got me thinking about where I fit into Society. Mr.Medina kept me on my toes with his lectures. An eye opener for the roles you play out in your life. Take lots of class notes, you will have quizzes on them. Read all assigned chapters to keep up with the class. Overall, a great class.

doesn't lecture the book so to do well on the tests you need to read the book. his lectures are super cool, he doesn't lecture the book but his lectures are really relevant to life. one way or another everyone will get something out of his class.

1) He is unconventional. 2) Lectures may seem irrelevant but tie in with reading. 3) Make sure you attend class on time to receive test, homework or extra credit instructions. He is not one to repeat himself. 4) MAKE SURE you get classmate contact information. Your classmates are the best sources to staying on track with assignment schedules.

Amazing professor and class. His lectures are intriguing and he definitely makes you think outside of the box. Talks alot but it was all interesting and related to sociology. Really nice and opens your mind to a whole different perspective!

I did want to miss any class, Dave instructed, there was always something new to learn his class, that everyone should know about life itself. Learn now what you will alway need to remember, and benefit from today, and tomorrow

Definitely one of the best. His teaching is unorthodox and quite frankly I didn't mind it. If your a slacker who needs to be told what to do than stay away.
