SOC231 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Very dry and boring lecturer, but promotes class discussion. Class is an easy A if you just do the work, she grades very fairly. She is ambiguous for the midterm and final, but it's not hard stuff. You don't need to read, just skim and you'll be fine. Nice person, extremely interesting class material. Definitely a class to take.

I feared this class and Dr. Patterson actually showed me that not only couldI learn the materials but they were relevant and even interesting.

I don't suggest taking Patterson for Stats. She teaches straight from the book but quizzes you on the book material BEFORE the lecture, so class is pretty pointless--but you have to go anyway for the pop quizzes. Problem sets are tedious. I'm not great at math but the class was SUPER easy (content-wise), and I barely learned anything.
