Teaches material very well... made it very interesting. Tough projects though and not the best one on one instructor!

Overall, a very effective teacher. He is easy to understand, and explains things well. However, like with most good teachers, he is a bit harder on marking than others. Also, he spends a LOT of time teaching, so there is often very little time to work in class, or ask him questions. Other than that, he is one of the better teachers at Seneca.

He is smart but far too demanding. He knows pretty much all there is to know about scripting and logic but expects everyone to be as smart as he is. Don't expect an easy ride with him, and don't expect his requests to always make sense. Overall Murray Saul is a much better and more practical teacher.

Petalik did teach this before, regardless of the teacher the failure rate was the same. Linux programming involves knowing both Linux and programming, most people fail because they can't understand one or the other or both. He teaches well, marks fairly and will help if you're willing to learn.

Of course he seems boring to you people. You know how hard it is to teach a Linux shell scripting and not be boring. Practice your command line skills people and stop complaining. You get what you deserve to get. Do your work and you will get good results.

This proffesor is not helpful at all. He is unable to teach properly. If Andrew Petalik was still teaching I would have taken his course. Do not take his courses, because you will not have a good experience with Jankul.

He knows his stuff, but he doesn't like to respond quickly, even though he says he does. He marks things unfairly, does not give you a full explanation on why you lose all the marks you did. If he doesn't like you, you are utterly screwed. Working my ass off to keep a stable mark; not doing too well
