STA 2023 Taken for Credit:Yes Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: A

Your grade is based only on 5 exams. He is straight forward with everything, and always offered to help. The exams weren't that tough, but if you don't go to class, you most likely won't do well. He was funny at times, but a majority of the time, he was just reading the PowerPoint and giving examples and explaining (kinda dry, but good lecturer).

"Skip class? You won't pass."

Dr. Schott's lectures are pretty straightforward. He does NOT post slides online, so I'd suggest going to class cuz the TAs start to give you judgmental looks after your 4th visit to their office for the notes (I'm sort of joking.) If you're a good student and do the homework problems despite him not collecting them, you'll do fine.

This class is not hard, you have to attend every class and take notes. All grade base on the exams, but he allows us to use a note paper for each exam. so just make sure you write all equations and importance on that paper. then you'll be fine.

Fair and fun teacher. He's clear, uses power points, and is happy to further explain anything not understood in class, after class or in his office. Hardest part about the class with the small number of questions on the tests, which is the only thing your grade is based on. 15 or 17 a test, and mistakes are easy to make if you're not careful.

Dr. Schott is great. I was forced to take this course, so my interests weren't there, yet I EARNED an A. I'm not a stats major, but Stat theory is a math course. Proofs and derivations make the class easy if you're a math major. He derives everything in class, and proves all results, which is great. His lectures were excellent, and well prepared.

Excellent professor. Lectures are succinct, yet information dense. Tests are challenging but reasonable. Professor Schott devotes plenty of time to answering student questions.

Awesome professor. His lectures are pretty boring but very straightforward and to the point. Easy class if you study your notes and do the suggested homework problems. Try not to make stupid mistakes on the tests since they are only 16Q multiple choice.

Must keep up with everything from the start or else you will be lost. He does not post power points. Your grade is made up of 4 tests and the final. If you do not do the homework problems that he suggests, you will fail.No tests dropped, class based on total points.

Straight forward, lectures are very boring though. All exams open book open notes. His notes are pretty much the best study aid. Do the suggested homework problems for extra practice. Easy to get an A if you put a little bit of time into studying and paying attention in class.

Great professor. Doesn't crack jokes or play around in class like "cool" teachers do but he teaches you and that what you need out of a math class. Lets you make your own reference sheet for tests and he does no like trick questions. Very helpful and is always prepared to answer any questions. Definately suggested.

Took this in the summer. Honestly, this class is pretty easy. He's clear and concise. Makes everything easily understandable. He gives you an 8 by 11 piece of paper for exams you can write anything on. I did the homework the night before exams and got A's on all the tests. Super easy,

I had to retake this class because the professor last year had such an accent I could barely understand the class. This guy is CRYSTAL clear and makes the course so EASY to understand. I CANNOT believe it and I am terrible at Statistics. Take his class..

Stat Theory 1 and 2. Pretty tough classes. No accent, very clear on problems. Exam questions come from homework and in class examples. Goes word for word by the book, and a little dry but I'd still recommend going. Very nice, but be prepared to be a little bored in his classes. 4 tests, 25% each. No cumulative final.

Take his class in the summer, it's a MUCH better experience. I took his class twice, & my grade improved a whole letter grade by taking it in the summer. He's much better in smaller classes vs. auditorium classes. In the summer the exams are written vs a scantron so it helps get extra points. GOOD TEACHER! You'll appreciate him & his notes later!!!

His lectures are great and tests are fairly easy. He definitely does some curving. I calculated my grade to a B, and somehow ended up with an A. Make sure to view tests to see what you miss, they definitely come up in the final again!

The expectations are crystal clear. There are 9 chapters of HW problems on syllabus. They are very similar to the tests. The lectures are dry, but very clear. He hints at anything that is tricky or often missed by students. Not a big time-commitment to ace this class.

4 tests, one final. Tests were extremely fair given some study was done. Homework optional, but helpful for tests. Relatively easy A if you put in a little time studying and doing practice.

Only four tests and a final make up your grade. Doesn't explain things well at all. Does curve grade at the end however. Allows formula sheet for each test

He is very straightforward and you have to go to class to get his notes (no powerpoints on webcourses). I found him very easy and tests were easy if you practiced all the recommended problems on the syllabus. If you have a question, ask. He is good about clarifying and explaining. If you give it some effort you can get an A.

This professor is awesome. Clear and to the point teaching. He moves fast, but will stop to go over something over and over if necessary (so ask questions). Tells exactly what will be on exams. Exams straightforward and no tricks (make good formula sheets). Very helpful during office hours. An A is very possible with some effort.
