This course was transformational. Dr. Sabrina takes it to the next level if you are willing to go there with her. Heavy and dense reading load. If you are into nerding out on social issues you will love this course. Get ready to have your assumptions challenged.

"There for you" "Inspirational" "Amazing lectures"

Very nice and helpful. The book its a must & so are the readings or you'll feel lost and confused. A paper, midterm, final, many readings and a group project. She is willing to change the class syllabus for the student's success. She is one of the few professor's that really does care about the student's and doesn't lecture just because.

I have so much respect for Dr. Alimahomed-Wilson. She is clear from the start about what she expects from her students. The class is not easy but teaches it in a way that make you think and question your own role in society. There is a lot of reading but go to class, read and become invested and you will do great. Have an opinion!

Just take her course she is amazing you learn so much she is clear in what she expects. She's understanding and will work with you. As long as you read the readings and come to class ready for discussion. She loves what she does and you can see it. Loved this class. The research paper was the hardest part for me.

She is a great teacher and very helpful. The first readings are boring (colonialism) but the following readings are more interesting (labor and family) videos and movies are very interesting. 1 presentation(in small groups) 1 midterm and one final plus a six page book analysis. I learned a lot and the teacher's attitude is awesome.

I cannot speak highly of her! She is an amazing professor! This class is not easy, but not impossible. There are TONS of readings! so you need the books, but you will learn a lot! She wants her students to succeed. She is very approachable and is willing to help out if you need it. 4 quizzes, 1 presentation, 2 papers, 1 research, midterm and final.

She is a good professor. there is a lot of reading and a lot of writing 2 tests in essay form, 3 papers and a 10 page research paper. However, I felt like coming to class was unnecessary as she hardly based her tests on the readings that we covered in class.

Hands down, best professor! Her class isn't easy but not impossible. Engage in discussions because it will only add to what you get from the class. There are 3 response papers and one 10 page final research paper. (She rewards the class according to their participation throughout the semester!) One midterm and final, all essay format.

TAKE HER for SOC 346! I can't speak more highly of her. She sets the standard for other professor's. There were pop quizzes every other class, essay exams, group project, and a 10pg paper. Lots of work but if you study the readings and go to class youll get an A. Took a night class and no one was bored or wanted 2 leave, the time flew by.

By far the best professor at CSULB. She is intelligent and engaging and is knowledgeable in anything you ask her regarding the subject. she is truly interested in her students successes and endeavors and is very helpful with questions regarding grad school etc. The smartest and most passionate professor-reveals the vast inequalities of our world

It's true she is pretty which makes coming to class an added bonus I guess but the overall material for this class is pretty dense and really hard to comprehend. Class is mostly opinion based and it's hard to follow where discussions are going for the most part...can get really repetitive also. Research paper was by far the biggest challenge.

Dr. Sabrina is such a pleasant and passionate professor. Definitely not an easy class, lots of reading and writing. 6 two page assignment (grades kinda harshly), and a 10-12 page research paper. Take her if you are willing to learn! She is so knowledgeable and loves helping and talking to students.

Soc of Sex. She was really straightforward with us and talked to us as she would want people to talk to her. she's really nice and engaging. she didn't "censor" herself cause she thought it wouldn't do us justice. i liked her and i literally did all the work the night before and i wound up with the highest grade in the class. participate = A

There are 4 analytical essays (was 5, but last one cancelled) and 1 midterm and 1 final. The midterm and final are relatively easy if you attend class and take notes off her ppt. The essays are not easy and require thought. However, she is always available for help. Forget what anyone else said, if you're serious about WGSS then take her.

This was a PRINCIPLES of Feminism course but she taught it like a graduate level theory class. Her grading was harsh and vague. Her lectures were great and she's super nice, but her in-class tests were unrealistic in expectations. I'm avoiding her entirely next semester. I'm usually a mid A student but I'm getting a high C.
