Very interesting class. One of the best. She used real world examples from her work at the CDC and she also made the assignments real world. Class was always started with current public health issues and outbreaks. Fun and applicable!

Great to do independent study with. Weekly meetings and goals are clear. She requires more work than other professors require, but I learned things that you can't get in classes regarding research and how to run a study. Most of her research is in Louisville and she is very engaged in the community. She really cares and you learn alot.

main problem was that the homework and tests were hard. if you leave homework to the last minute, you wont get it done and the teacher does not allow extensions. it is due in class. teacher knows alot about public health and has more experience working than most other teachers. just start your homework right away when you get it cause it take

Took environmental epi last semester. I like the class because the prof was really prepared and up-to-date. We talked about the radiation disaster that happened in Japan, from environmental and epi perspectives, weekly. It was really interesting. One of best teachers-- doesnt just use old material over and over and knows her stuff. Helpful too

Field EPI was great. She used real world outbreak investigations that she was involved in for examples. We talked about them and she even told about the mistakes she made during investigations. Homework was clear and very useful. I hate 3 hour classes, but the professor did not have a choice b/c the MPH program is like that.

omg. I can't believe that other review. I had Dr. Z for 2 classes and both were outstanding. She is organized, really knowledgeable, and easy to talk with. Most of the class really learned and thought she was very fair. She even used current ph events as examples. Dr. Z worked hard to help me get a great job. Great teacher!!

She is a great person to talk to, but to be honest I would not take this professor. Her grading practices are not fair and somewhat biased towards some certain groups. I will say that she is helpful when you are looking for information about career options and furthering your education. When it comes to teaching many students have had issues with h
