Psych 104 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Easiest class I have ever taken. As long as you go to class and read the textbook the night before the exam you will do well. she scales if the avg is too low.

Psycho 104 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

I struggled in this class through no fault of Gail because science is not my strong point. Gail is a nice lady, but her notes and lectures come straight from the textbook. You could still pass the exams if you skip class. Did not like mandatory research participation, but it's an easy 10% if you participate.

PSYCO 104 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: P

She uses the textbook as her notes. When you go to the class, it's basically a review of what you read in the textbook. The video's she shows are also accessible online. Her exams are easy; there based on two chapters each and there are three exams in total plus the final.

PSYCO 104 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: A+

This is by far the easiest course I have taken all year. As long as you read the textbook and know most of the details, you should get an A or higher. Often reduces her exam totals so your mark gets boosted even more. Classic definition of a GPA booster.

PSYC0 104 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Psychology 104 was a very straightforward course: memorize textbook (she will test on specific details), watch videos online and succeed in the course. 4, non-cumulative, 50 question MC exams. She will not round up your GPA! Class was the Textbook PowerPoint slides, exams were from the Textbook Test Bank. TIPS: Buy textbook, do your RP early.

PYSCO 371 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Worst prof I have ever had during all four of my years at the UofA. Her classes are a joke, she reads off a script and cannot answer questions that take her off script. She writes confusing exam questions which she cannot explain during or after the exam. Her testing protocol is ridiculous... pure regurgitation. WORST PROF EVER.

class is structured exactly from the textbook. lectures are just her reading a slightly paraphrased version of the textbook out loud. she overexplains things that we already know, and brushes over things that are actually interesting. instant brainfart when you ask a question that isn't written in the notes she reads. very boring.

Psych 371 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

WOW this prof is really a joke. No need to attend class, since she just repeats word for word what is in the textbook. As the previous poster said, just memorize that textbook, watch the videos she posts online, and get an A. exams are really easy, but memorizing the text is time consuming

Oh Gail! First the textbook was like 200 bucks. It's all you needed for the course, no need to attend lectures they're verbatim from the textbook. Exams MC had lots of mistakes!! She's a super kind lady who would donate her kidney to you but her public speaking skills were lacking. I think she was nervous all semester

Gail is super nice, extremely helpful and easy to get a hold of. Her exams are fair and straight forward. She doesn't try to trick you. However she doesn't seem like she has enough knowledge in the subject area to teach this course as lecture was straight reiteration from the text. In her defence, she is a new professor. I think she will improve

PSYCO 475 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

It is very obvious that she lacks expertise to teach this class. The content is primarily neuroscience and most of the time she could not answer questions. The material is very interesting but she recite the slides, which are carbon copies of the text. Just like psyco 371, she allows an option of a paper. She is an incredibly nice lady, tho.

It is such a shame that her lecture notes are carbon copies from the textbook, word for word. Nice thing is that you get to replace a midterm with a paper. The material itself is alright, but she is rather a poor lecturer. However, she is like the nicest lady on earth and will go at great length to help you out.

For a 400 level class I was really disappointed. She basically just rehashed all of the 200 level science psych classes. Her midterm was also a bit of a mess. It seemed she may have just borrowed it from another class.

PSYCH 371 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

She's very nice, but I'm definitely not a fan of how she pretty much scripts her lectures and literally reads off a piece of paper. The material itself is fairly easy and reading the textbook is absolutely mandatory. She also allows you to write a paper to replace your lowest midterm mark, which is a nice option.

PSYCO 371 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Shes nice but her slides are literally copied from the textbook. Its not necessary to go to class except to see videos she shows. Also, I went into this class expecting more neurobiology but its a very artsy science psych course. Plus theres alot of repetition from 281. Overall not a hard class but kind of a boring one.

Very friendly, helpful, and fair prof! Extra assignments like papers and presentations that really helped boost your GPA. The exam material and lecture notes were based almost exclusively on the textbook. Her exams included rote memorization of definitions and long answer. If you prepared, good marks were achievable!

A very enjoyable class to take! Most of the material in the lectures overlap with the textbook, although it'd be in your best interest to attend all classes, because info from film clips are testable as well. Gail was a very generous marker and tells you exactly what she expects for the essay and presentation components. Definitely recommended.

Gail is a good teacher. 90% of the material taught is straight from the textbook. Class attendance is recommended because some things said in class are used in her exams. Exams are very fair (not alot of surprises) and she is easy going and nice. Lots of reading (I would recommend keeping up with the reading) but I definitely enjoyed her class.
