I mostly went to Dr. Mcnamara's office hours. He doesn't even teach orgo lecture but the amount of help he provides is amazing. Mcnamara ALWAYS made time when I needed help with orgo, and he was super fast with emails. He even stayed late to help students prepare for our orgo final. He's amazing, so knowledgeable and so willing to help.

Go to his office hours! I don't have him for lecture, but I wish I did. Extremely helpful. Very fast with email. Makes sure you understand and uses great examples. Sort of eccentric, but that grows on you over time.

So far, so good. More detailed than my lecture professor. Careful to point out what will be important in the future. Nice guy, but a little intimidating. First few weeks have passed so we're more familiar with him, but still when he speaks, no body does. You could hear a pin drop.

He is a very nice guy and he helps his students do well. Lectures wont give you much if you don't read the book. His tests aren't hard if you know the material in the book and his lectures. I loved this class.

Mcnamara is extremely helpful and friendly. Read the textbook and review his lecture slides (which are also based on the textbook) and you should do fine.

He is by far the most helpful and caring professor. Orgo is a hard class but he is willing to help. Hes an amazing person, I would recommend taking this class with him. Exams are fairly easy compared to the other professor.

BEST PROFESSOR IN HUNTER COLLEGE!!!!! I hated chem my whole life and he truly made me reconsider that. He makes such a hard class tolerable and is very fair with the material he puts on tests. Questions he gives to do as optional practice are usually used on tests. 4 tests that are 25% each and he drops one. He is AWESOME! TAKE HIM !!!!

Love this professor. His lectures and slides were based 100% on the book, but how exciting and creative can you really get with organic chemistry? He is very involved, very responsive (literally replies to emails within 2-4 hours), and will go out of his way to help. I had him a semester ago, and he still remembers my name and keeps in touch.

Prof. McNamara is very new at this so his lectures definitely are lacking. However, he takes the time to remember everyone's name and will spend time with you during office hours to make sure you get the material, even if you don't during lecture.

he just reads off the slides no improvisation. hardly response to any question in the class but good in office hours. his TA patrick leonard was the worst i ever had, just walks around in the class w/o helping students. new teacher exams have hard and easy question with disproportional point system. u have to study ur own to pass the class.

New Professor, although he uses slides directly from the text he is very clear about what you should learn from them. He is very helpful, very accesible and wants students to do well. Out of all the Orgo prof's I'd take his class every time.

Amazingly helpful face to face in office hours and always makes time for you if you ask. Yes, his lectures are generic, but he speaks clearly, emphasizes what you need to know, and knows his stuff. Anyone who thinks they can "learn" orgo from listening to lecture is fooling themselves anyway. You must do problems on your own time.

dunno why he just reads off the slides which came with the txt book, not even his own. solves problem b4 comes to the class and read it to the students. orgo should be explained by showing mechanism step by step but he just reads the slides. have him for orgo 2 dunno what will happen. didn't tell us his grading policy until he submitted grades

The professor on the whole is very good in terms of my experience with organic chem professors. I took organic chem before at stony brook university. all the professors will use powerpoint slides and will read off from it. this professors slides were very good. the text book was the best orgo text ive had. it explains alot. the professor is great
