I have never learned as much in a semester as easily and effectively than i have in this class with Joan. She is very verbal and doesn't use wordy PowerPoint, yet I still have a complete understanding of her course. By far the greatest teacher for any course I'm sure. I would recommend her for anything, from advising to teaching.

This is BY FAR the best professor at UCF. You won't need the text book if you attend all of her lectures and take good notes. She's super funny and keeps the class laughing the entire time. I learned so much about advertising because of her. She's a teacher you'll admire and respect, but you'll also want her to be your best friend.

I took her for copywriting. Honestly, just wow. What a great professor. She is so funny and passionate about the subject. She knows what she's doing, hence why she doesn't need a text book. If you actually want to learn, take her. She grades very fairly and is just awesome. Great class, loved it.

She is an amazing professor!! I am more interested in PR and was nervous to take copywriting because I didn't think I would do well in this class or like it. After taking this class I can say that I learned so much from her and she was a great teacher who always made class interesting and fun! You must take her if you are an Ad/PR major.

If you've been around Ad/PR for a while, you've heard about Joan. She is quite possibly the best professor at UCF. She is so helpful and her teaching style is unique, a breath of fresh air. She motivates her students to do their best work. As long as you are respectful and try your best, you will succeed in her class.

Book not needed, copy notes& from lecture and ppt.Tests come from them so pay attention,come to class, if so you will do fine.Amazing teacher. Cares about students perspective,and ideas on material & how to improve class & that they understand the material.Makes it fun by adding videos, real life &by her passion for it.would take her in an instant!

AMAZING!!! Such a bubbly personality... Inspiring, Charasmatic, & Very Helpful... She is a wonderful professor, very witty and engaging... she kept the course fun and interesting, wasn't too hard of a class, just don't miss lectures and you'll be fine. EXCELLENT PROFESSOR!

Joan McCain is my hero. She is a wonderful teacher, an interesting and inspiring adviser, and she'll do everything in her power to help you out. She takes pride in her work and truly wants to help all of her students succeed. Not to mention, she is so much fun to be around! Ad/PR majors - take her before you graduate!

There are a million great things I can say about her, but all you need to know is that if you are an Ad/PR major you MUST take one of her classes before you graduate. Not only are her classes fun and inspiring, but she was by far my favorite and most influential professor in my time here at UCF. If you don't take her you are missing out!

Took her class over the summer. Outgoing, understanding, fun teacher. Did not use +/- for summer class. Does not take attendance but gives out pop quizzes. Did not have to buy the book. Easy tests. I don't think she'll be teaching ADV3008 again, but if you're lucky enough, take McCain.

Took her for both Copywriting & Ad/PR Campaigns. My favorite professor ever! She connects with her students and never puts thier ideas down, instead she plays off of them to create better projects. Seems anal but is not. She loves to teach and it shows. She teaches in a fun and humorous tone. She is a must take.
