Dr.Putz is a fantastic professor and his class is definitely one to take. Those who view him as arrogant or condescending are just mistaking how brilliant and passionate he is about what he teaches. If you can break away from the trance his beard holds over you, his lectures keep your interest and greatly enhance your interpretation of the texts.

Despite what people say on here Putz is a great teacher, if you're interested in the subject it isn't bad at all. If you have a problem with swearing or lecturing then he's not your type, but he's not too harsh of a grader and actually made the subject interesting to me when I wasn't very interested going into it!

On the plus side, he's very smart. He's a generally nice person too. However, he's also quite cocky and condescending. He teaches very theoretical stuff as opposed to teaching useful, practical information. Personally, I don't care for how much he swears. I'm not a fan of his and I would not recommend taking him.

Really a great professor! By far my favorite professor yet in college. He is very knowledgeable and is approachable. I recommend.

He is very helpful with all the students, willing to go above and beyond to make sure everyone does their best. He is extremely intelligent (VERY EASY on the eyes as well) and I seriously recommend him. He presents ideas in an accessible way so that everybody can follow in discussions. He is an 11/10, if you have a chance, take him!

To describe him to a T, look up the definition of superfluous. Adam is condescending and inappropriate; avoid at all costs to prevent monotonous lectures about his superiority complex.

I definitely think that this professor helped to improve my writing. The papers were designed so that you can choose a topic you are interested in and if you follow the directions you will do well. He makes you think a lot with the readings but this is helpful and not ridiculously hard.

Would Not recommend him. He makes the class more like a philosophy class than a normal writing class. I thought it would help me become a better write but it has not at all. The final essay makes absolutely no sense at all and is about theorists.

Putz was extremely confusing. He tried to help students but did not always clarify the assignment. The final essay was complicated and I felt that most of the class was confused when we did it. He also is very arrogant and thought highly of himself. Overall, I did not enjoy this class and would not recommend him as a professor.

Adam brought a very laid back and easy going attitude to the classroom. He is very smart and didn't seem to understand that some of the work with the theorists we read was way over the class's head. Research project is cumulative through semester and he grades fairly. Would recommend him for 110.

Adam was a great English teacher to have. He is a younger professor so he is easy to relate to and understands his students. The class wasn't overly difficult, but still challenged critical thinking skills. I would highly recommend taking him because your writing skills will improve and he grades very fairly.

I enjoyed the class and Adam. He was a very real person; blunt and humorous. The whole semester's assignment list is posted since day one. His integration of philosophy into writing is so innovative that it kept my attention every class. If you mind vulgarity or are insecure with your intelligence this class, and maybe even college aren't for you.

He's young, swears a lot, and I loved him at first. As the year went on, I was sick and tired of hearing of how smart he thinks he is. His outlines cover everything he expects, but is not explained very well. If you are willing to think outside of the box, he's for you. For those who are more "simple-minded" like myself, I would try someone else.

He is very smart and knows what he is talking about. 5 graded papers and other nongraded small reflections. Can be unclear to what he wants you to do but the papers follow a general outline. Easy if you follow the assignment briefs.
