Awesome Professor! Truly one of the best, most caring professors you will ever get to know, if you put in the time.

She is the best teacher I have ever had, not only at UCSC but ever. She is really funny, has so much enthusiasm for the material and makes understanding the concepts easy. Very structured course layout and the exams follow the study guide. You MUST attend class because there are no lecture notes online. She even became an academic mentor to me.

Dr. Mehta is a clear lecturer. I loved the stories she told us in class to help us remember the material. Her powerpoints have very few words so you are forced to listen to understand the concepts. This is hard when the class is at 8am but it was cool that she was so excited to teach us. I would really like to take a class with her in the future.

This is a really challenging course. We have only 5 weeks to learn plant physiology and 5 weeks for animal physiology. Dr. Mehta taught the animal half. The animal section rocked! Dr. Mehta is really good at getting your attention. It is a hard class but I recommend it If you want to learn physiology.

Need to pretty much study the materials constantly if you want to pull a good grade at the end. The exam scores are usually curved based upon class performance, but there is no overall class curve at the end.

Dr. Mehta presents material that is interesting but really challenging. Her lectures are awesome and it was because of her enthusiasm that I wanted to attend the lectures. Study her notes and read the book before coming to class. This class is fun but challenging.

Bio 20b Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Very enthusiastic about the course. Tried to make us excited for the class. Organized slides, but sometimes her slides are just subtitles and you have to listen to her high-pitched voice for the notes. Moves rather quickly. Pretty good professor, but hard grader. First class I've had that gave out +'s and -'s. Ended up getting the lower end of it.

Dr.Mehta is extremely engaging- especially for an 8am class. She seems like she is a pro teaching this material and I would recommend this course to anybody majoring in biology. Thanks for making this course so interesting.

The class felt a bit too easy. As long as you read the book before lecture it will be extremely easy to get an A. Everything she expects from you (which isn't much) is in her lectures. Her lab activities were fun but the Seymour Center can make you go out of your way if you don't have transportation. She's nice but her jokes aren't very funny.

Class material is really challenging. Professor is enthusiastic and helpful if you go to office hours. She is strict but her lectures are really helpful because they narrow down information in the book. Go to lectures or you are going to fail.

one word- HORRIBLE! Her slides were so disorganized and she's not as nice as she seems.she assigned so much reading from the book and barely tested us on it. the final was pretty easy. just study from her notes. dont bother to read.

Rita expects very little out of you. She is very clear and fair and seems like a nice person, but I found her a little irritating as a professor - she talks to us like we are kindergarteners which makes it difficult to be motivated to try. Exam was a joke, very little understanding required just memorize her very simple notes and iclicker questions

She is very strict and gave most of the class C's. I found her to be very disorganized and I definitely did not enjoy her portion of the class.

She's an alright teacher. Super enthusiastic about the subject and really wants her students to do well. Really approachable but her notes can be kind of confusing and sometimes vague/not detailed enough. I definitely had to read the book for this class and recommend it!

She's not the best teacher I've ever had but she is pretty fair. Just make sure you do the reading and take good notes. She is pretty clear about what she wants you to know for the test! Study hard :)

First time teaching the course. Taught the Animal portion of the class. She can definitely improve but she wasn't the worst teacher I've ever had. She's is helpful but also very demanding. Read the book and do the quizzes at the end of each chapter because around 1/4 of the questions on the final were from those quizzes.
