I took two courses and classes were great. I learned an amazing amount and she is very rewarding and kind. She even provided me of a tutorial when I was absent. Accent? Prof. Bartoli is Italian, with a bit of an accent, but wonderfully articulate and she never gets stuck. Amazing professor, if you are interested in art I strongly recommend her

Energizes the class. Speaks fluently, has style and humor, brilliant professor, extremely organized, clear in her expectations. Her classes are inspiring. One of the best professors I ever had.

Prof. Bartoli's lectures aren't unclear, they're really fun! She's an expert in the field with a gift for teaching. You can tell she loves the material and wants her students to do well. Do the required work and the payoff is great - she made me love art and be a better student. Highly recommend!

Prof. Bartoli has amazing knowledge of and passion for the material she teaches, which she shares in engrossing lectures. To succeed you must be in class, do the readings, and memorize the images - all reasonable demands for any college course. She's very accessible and wants her students to succeed. A fantastic prof, the U is lucky to have her.

Incredibly difficult to understand because of her heavy accent. She always gets stuck and asks the class to help her figure out a word in english. Her exams are hard and she tells you not to study something and then includes it in the test. Definitely not meant to be a professor. makes museum visit mandatory and doesnt care if you have conflicts.

She's really confusing to listen too. I think this class should have a ton of prereqs because it's definitely not a class that you can go into without prior knowledge and do well. The tests are scattered. The slides are everywhere and the only material you get. I got an OK grade but would never recommend her.

Professor Bartoli is a subject matter expert with an absolute passion for the material. She just wants you to care about your academics and loves engaging with her students in a personable way. She was extremely responsive to all questions and problems, and her outside-of-class availability was very flexible. A true academic professional.

Prof. Bartoli is absolutely wonderful. Her courses are organized in a special way that place a heavy focus on imgery and memorizing, which is fundamental and instrumental for learning art history. She teaches students to appreciate the beauty of art and she has a great sense of style. You will enjoy the class and learn a lot.

Professor Bartoli is incredibly knowledgeable in her field and has a way of making even the most dull of subjects interesting. Her classes are not easy, but if you put in the time and effort it is completely worth it. This was one of the most enjoyable classes I have taken. I highly recommend her as a professor.

I was excited to class from Bartoli but unfortunately she's all over the place during her lectures. She contradicts what she says you need to know for the exams(she said dates weren't of importance but they were a majority of the test points) and she likes to chat with the TA and other students while taking exams which is extremely distracting!

Roberta was truly remarkable. I took her Art of the Italian Renaissance class and could not keep from laughing the entire time out of enjoyment, and it was very welcomed. If you truly love the class, she will love you. A very likable, and intelligent professor. She wants you to succeed and if you want to as well, the class will be a great.

Extremely knowledgeable and passionate. Has high expectations, but shows a deep interest in students' success and is always willing to help. This course does require a great deal of time and effort, and is not the best choice to fulfill a liberal education requirement.

Wonderful professor. Enthusiastic, passionate, knowledgeable. She may seem strict and intimidating at first (especially if you come late or obviously don't study or care), but she truly wants all of her students to succeed. Come to class, look at the slides. Tip: download the slides, and weed out the duplicates/details. That will help you study.

Roberta is not like any American professor you've likely had. She expects alot out of her students and it can be difficult to keep up with her, especially if you don't have a ton of former knowledge in the subject. Expect to work hard, but also expect that she will do as much as she can to help you along the way. Overall, great woman and teacher.

Amazing professor. She has an unbelievable command of her subject matter, and provides her students with a ton of material that is extremely beneficial, but does not test on all of it. She goes far out of her way to help. Not overly easy, but one learns at the feet of a master. Invaluable experience!

If someone has a problem with Biblical iconography, that should be taken into consideration before registering for a Medieval art class. Everything taught was appropriate for the subject being studied.

Professor Bartoli is a visiting Italian professor, and she has taught and studied all over Europe. She really knows her stuff. She is always available and always eager to help you out. Do your work, come to class, ask questions, you will pass. Tests are informal in a good way. She really, really wants her students to do well. Wonderful professor.

Dr. Bartoli teaches with enthusiasm, and offers many slides in order for her students to get a fuller picture of what they are studying. She is helpful, and always available to talk over any concerns. If you put forth the effort, it will not go unnoticed.

Class was great, I highly recommend her! You need to be willing to put in the work- ie. go to class, engage, read the text. If you put in the time and work, you should have no problem doing well in her classes. Her content is the best in the art history department. She really cares about her students succeeding and understanding the material. :)
